I don't know if I can do "regular" but would love to get together with some new people. This is amazing because I only just went to this forum for the first time
YAY!! We'll see if there are any more takers! Maybe we can do a "beat the heat" kind of thing, since the temps are getting hotter and it's harder to be out side doing stuff!!
I'm getting together with a friend at her house this Friday (the 25th) at 7pm for a crop night. There will be a couple of other ladies there. She is located near Lakeline mall, so if you are interested let me know and I'll get you her address.
I'm subscribing just cause I don't want to miss the fun. Let's keep this open so we can somehow be in the loop if there's an Austin-area event.
It's too hard to plan anything formal now with everyone getting ready for Stampin' Up! convention. That said, though, by request of some ladies at the Heart of Texas Scrapbook club (charity scrappers), I'm hosting a Tuesday night crop at my house on June 19. We're hoping it's the first of a long line of monthly informal crops.
All I'm doing is setting up tables in my house and forewarning my husband, so there's no commitment. As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I have lots of tools and will make them available, but this isn't a Stampin' Up! event - just a fun gathering of scrappers/stampers.
If you're interested, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you an e-vite as the date approaches. I'm in North Round Rock, just before you get to IKEA.
Hi, everyone. I went to Archiver's yesterday and spoke to them about their workspace. It's free and available for walk-in use anytime Monday - Thursday until 9 p.m. On the weekends, they have classes and Scrap Mania. Scrap Mania is basically just a crop, but dinner is provided (5 - 11 p.m.). There are drawings and a demonstration. Cost is $15 and you must make a reservation. If you receive their newsletter with monthly coupons, there is a coupon in there for "Bring a friend for free" to Scrap Mania. I am definitely interested in going to Scrap Mania or on a weeknight. Anyone else interested?

Sassybee - I'm sorry, I just saw your post. Heart of Texas Scrapbook club is awesome. They put together fabulous, very well-run one-day crops and a couple of retreats each year. They've been doing it for years and have it down to a science.
I wrote about them in my blog, here. And, there web site is here.
I was at Scrap Mania at Archivers last month with a friend. It was a lot of fun. The staff were terrific. And, given that they give a full meal, it's a good deal at $15. Let me know if you guys set a date to go together . . . I'd like to at least poke my head in and say hi to fellow SCS'ers.
Hey, everyone! Is anyone up for a Scrap Mania? My sister and I are signed up for next Saturday, June 23rd. We'd love to see you there! The more the merrier! Just call 247-0400 to make a reservation and pay. It's from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and a catered dinner is provided.
Brenda - I have to miss on the 23rd, I'll be out of town. I just sent out an e-vite for a Crop & Talk at my house on June 19. If I missed anyone, just e-mail me at [email protected].
Hey guys,
I just found this thread tonight...I'm in Austin too, and would love to get together to stamp sometime. I'll be out of town this weekend, but keep me posted of other events.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I am not going to be able to sponsor a fall event in Austin after all. I just have too much on my plate and can't do it. :(
Saturday October 6th in Honor of National Card Making day - I'll be holding a Card-a-thon at San Marin Apartments Club room if anyone is interested in coming! It'll be from 10-2 and you can just come and make cards for as long or as short of a time as you want! I'll have my supplies out for everyone. Contact me for more information!
Hey all. Come join me at Scrapbook Fever on October 6 for a day of classes. I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, but I'm taking a day off and hanging with the Fever. They're a great group of girls who work there. Scrapbook Fever is in Round Rock just a little north of Austin, worth the trip. (Archivers is great, but it's making it really difficult for the little guy, we lost two stores in the past two months- gotta give our local ladies our support.)
