Hi everyone,

Just wanted to tell everyone that I had a great time at my first shoebox swap. Also I want to thank Lisa and Audrea for all their help. Many loved the Cranberry Nut Coffee Cake and wanted the recipe. Please see below.

CAPE COD CRANBERRY NUT COFFEE CAKE

1 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sour cream
 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
1 16-oz. Can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 cup chopped walnuts
 cup confectioners sugar (for topping)

Cream margarine and add sugar gradually. Add unbeaten eggs one at a time. Mix baking powder, soda, flour and salt and add to egg mixture alternately with sour cream.

Add the flavoring and cup of the walnuts.

Grease and flour well a tube or bundt cake pan. Put a layer of batter in the bottom of pan. Then add can of the cranberry sauce and spread evenly.

Add remaining batter, putting remaining cranberry sauce on top. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 55 minutes. Remove from pan after cooling five minutes.

Topping

Mix well cup confectioners sugar, 1 tablespoon of warm water and teaspoon of almond flavoring.

Drizzle over the top of the coffee cake only after it is taken out of the pan. Let topping run down sides of the cake.

Thanks!

Default Grape stickles !!!

Lisa, I finally had time to unpack my stuff from Saturday. I found your stickles. Somehow it found it's way into my swap box. Would you like me to mail it to you? Or I could bring it to you if you are going to Cathy's swap in a few weeks. Whatever you would like, just let me know. Lynn

Thank you SO much for posting this recipe!
It was so phenomenal I couldn't stop eating, even when I was full.
Gluttony tastes SO good.
I will be making this for Easter. I hope I can keep myself in check and not eat all of it before bringing it to the family.
Thank you again for bringing such a great dessert and sharing the recipe!

Thanks everyone for looking for my stickles! I get a little crazy about them, and my purple ones especially! They are making their way home to me.

Thanks again for a great swap! I have already used quite a few of the cards, and brought them with me to my workshops!

THanks 1,000,000 for the cranberry cake recipe!
It was wonderful!

I also loved the squares with broccoli & cheese. Was that a new dish? Can the recipe be posted for that also?

Blessings!

Jane, are you talking about the one with broccoli and pasta? If so, that's Mom's dish, so I'll get the recipe from her and post it.

No, although that was excellent and I wouldlike that recipe. This was just chicken in a brown crockpot. It was great, light and simple looking.

Default Chicken Barbeque

Dear Jane,

I too thought you were looking for the creamy chicken dish, otherwise I would have written sooner. This recipe is as simple as it gets.

2-3 lbs. boneless chicken breasts, grilled and then shredded
1 can Bold Manwich sloppy joe sauce

You can adjust ingredients as necessary.

See? I told you it was simple. Enjoy!

By the way, Cindy, I also would like your mom's recipe.

Thanks
Pat
