I'm so sad to say that I have to back out for this swap. A good family friend is having a surprise party for her mother that afternoon. I just got the invite yesterday. While I'll have a good time at the party, I'll be thinking of all the fun you guys will be having! I'm sure someone can take my space-I will be looking forward to next time!
Thanks-Teena Keppler (max'smom).
Hello. My friend Marcia signed me up, but didn't know what I was bringing. I will be bringing peanut butter/chocolate bars. I'm really looking forward to this card swap. One question I had, one of the ribbons I have for my card is not SU because they don't make this kind of ribbon. Is it ok to use on my card, if not, I'll just have to use cardstock in place of the ribbon, but the ribbon looks so much cuter. The other ribbon that I'm using on the card is SU gingham ribbon. Thanks so much and I look forward to meeting new stamping people in my neighborhood.
Hi Chara, yes, you can use non SU ribbon. If it's something that SU doesn't make, it's fine to use another supplier's item. Looking forward to meeting you.
Ladies, we will need some of you to bring drinks. If you haven't signed up for something yet, please consider signing up for drinks. We only have Courtney bringing some soda right now. Some options are bottled water, tea, lemonade, etc.
I'm sorry Soft Prints, but right now the swap is full. I have one other person on the waiting list, so I can contact you if two people drop out. Sorry about that.
Don't forget to sign up for something to bring for lunch if you have not already. We have two ladies on the waiting list - Jody and Soft Prints. If you cannot make it, please let me know, so I can contact them to join us.
Three more weeks ladies and our swap will be here. If for some reason you cannot attend, please post ASAP, so we can see if other ladies are interested in coming.
Also, since there are 30 swaps, that means you'll be making 29 cards. Please keep in mind that we have the church hall from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to stamp. We've done 30 swaps before, so I know this time frame is a good one. If for some reason you get behind and don't feel that you'll get finished all 29 items, please holler and those finished can help you. I've never met a stamping gal who isn't willing to help. We might run into a problem where everyone is waiting on that same box towards the end. We'll see what happens and figure out how to handle it if it becomes an issue.
If you are making a list of what to bring, here's a quick summary: shoebox swap for 30 people, something to share for lunch (if you haven't posted what you are bringing, please do so soon), your adhesive, scissors, etc. to use on each project, your catalog for one of the games, and cards for the card ministry.
I've been collecting lots of neat prizes for the door prizes and card ministry drawings. All prizes will be wrapped like Christmas presents to make it more interesting and feel like Christmas.
Also, just a reminder to demonstrators, SCS rules allow no promotion of your business or selling of any items during their events. Please be considerate to their rules, so we can continue having these events.
One thing I did forget to list for you to bring is the $5 per person for the hall rental. We'll need to collect that when you get there, because we have to pay for the hall that day.
I'm really looking forward to this....can't wait to see what card ideas you have come up with.
Does anyone personally know Jody Personette? She's the first on the waiting list and I have an opening. I've PM'd her but no response. If someone knows her and can call her, please let her know she can come and to post here that she is coming. Thanks gals!
Thanks Missy! I'm going out of town tonight thru Monday, so if you do talk to her, please ask her to post here one way or another. She's in if she definitely would like to participate. I'm adding her to the first post as a maybe for now to keep it at 30.
We are at 30 again ladies, so I still have a waiting list. Start cutting up that cardstock. Don't be like me and wait until Friday night!!! I'm such a procrastinator! It is packed to go with me tonight, so maybe, just maybe, I'll be ahead for this swap, but I doubt it. Have a great weekend!
One more week and then we'll be stamping fools for the day. Enjoy your weekend!
I can't believe how fast these last 2 weeks have gone by already, seems like I just saw you yesterday! Can't wait till next Saturday! You have a great weekend too!
The countdown has begun!!! Saturday will be here before we know it. I'll post directions in a few days when it gets closer. It's very easy to find off the beltway.
Okay gals, Saturday is almost upon us. Here's a summary of what you need to bring:
*Your shoebox swap which includes enough supplies for 30 people to complete your card/project, typed directions, sample of your card/project, and all tools, inks, stamps, embellishments, etc. to make your card/project. Make sure everything is labeled with your name or initials.
*What you are bringing for lunch including any serving utensils you need for your dish
*Adhesive with plenty of refills and scissors
*Cards to donate for the card ministry (you could win a stamp set by donating a card)
*Scrubber and cleaner if you have one - make sure your name is on it.
*$5 for the hall rental
When you get to the church, come in the double doors out front (I'll try and remember to put a sign on the door) and then come through the double doors immediately to your right. We'll have a table set up there where you will pick up a few things. You'll get a name tag, a large ziploc bag with your name on it for your cards you complete, a list of numbers from 1 to 30 for you to mark off what cards you've done, a door prize ticket, and a ticket if you donate a card/cards to the card ministry. We will mark your shoebox with a number, so we can keep them all straight. We'll collect the $5 at this time too, since we have to turn it over to the church on Saturday. Tables will be set up with scrap paper on them. You'll stay in the same seat for the entire day unless you want to get up and visit with others. I figured it would be easier to just stay and stamp in one seat instead of playing musical chairs. Also, I figured we'd probably bring out the refrigerated food around noon for lunch, but you can feel free to eat whenever you like. There should be plenty of drinks, and I'll have a marker there for us to write our names on our cups. There will be breakfast goodies too for us to eat in the morning.
We'll go over everything on Saturday too. I just figured I'd give you a heads up on what will happen when you get there.
Easiest way to the church from 695 is to take Belair Road/US-1 North for approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto Ebenezer Road and go to the end of the shopping center. Turn right into the parking lot - you'll see the Faith Fellowship Church sign. Then turn left into the church parking area. Go to the double doors in the middle of the building. For those coming 95 North, you'll be taking a left exit for 695 West. For those coming 95 South, you'll be taking a right exit for 695 West. Once you get onto 695, get over into your far right lane, because Belair Road North is the first exit you'll come to.
In case any of you have problems finding the church or anything else, my cell # is 410-615-3633. It's on usually 24/7.
If I think of anything else between now and then, I'll post it. Can't wait to see you all on Saturday. It is going to be a fun day!
Add one more thing to bring on Saturday - your catalog - a game I'm doing requires you to find the answer in your catalog. It's a very quick game, so it won't take away any time from stamping. Just something fun to break up the day.
I have my card stock cut. Just wondering if someone has something to make hot water in? I can bring flavored teabags and hot chocolate if we can get something to make the water in. If you can bring something please post it so I can bring the things. Pam
Just a reminder that we do not have access to any cooking equipment at all. All hot items must be in a crockpot or somthing of that sort. We cannot cook or bake anything. As to the hot water, we don't have any way of heating water up either. We only have use of the refrigerators in the kitchen area.
Connie, the hot apple cider is a great idea.
We do have someone bringing a coffee pot and coffee, so that is another hot drink that will be available.
Kristy's (Kstampin') DH broke his leg yesterday and has surgery today. Please say prayers and good thoughts for them during this horrible time. She won't be able to make it on Saturday now unfortunately.
This means there is one space open if someone wants to jump on the bandwagon real quick and prepare a card for the swap. Let me know ASAP! I am going to contact the lady on the waiting list to see if she is still interested, but with it being last minute, I figured I'd post here.
I see there are a lot of things on the food list. Are there any holes that need to be filled? Do we need plates, cups, etc.? I'm looking for something to bring.
