Again, think about techniques you want to learn or teach. Not everyone who is coming is a demo.
Allison - would that be just demonstrating/teaching the technique or providing a make and take for that??? I would love to teach the frost background, faux wood, reflected acetate, or polished stone. I can do others, but those are some of my favorites. Let me know if you need me and what the requirements would be.
Shell - good question. If it was a make-n-take, then we'd have to charge a little something.... UNLESS, you compile a list of 'needed' items for the project. This way we can bring what we need to learn. You can just demo/teach as we use our own stuff to replicate.
Hey all you Georgia Peaches! I would love to be there! I am from GA but now live in VA. I will be in GA the second week in Atlanta visiting family. What are the chances of another get together. I could do anywhere from the Atlanta down 75 to Albany. I have to visit my ex MIL right outside of Albany.
I think we should compile of needed items for any techniques we want to learn or have demonstrated.
Maria
I agree. Let's get ideas of what people want to learn/demo. Then we can find out who can demo & what items are needed. From there, we'll let everyone know what to bring.

Shell,
Personally, I have never tried ANY of those techniques, so I'd be ok with any of them.
Once we get a date set in stone, if anyone is going to need hotel information, let me know & I can try to come up with some options. Also, there seem to be several of us who live close to the desired location. Maybe some of us can 'house' the long travellers.
I will just be so happy to be stampin with other like minded ladies, that anything someone is willing to teach is good for me :-). I am able to demonstrate some techniques too if needed, anyone have interest in Gel Cards, Shaker Cards, Waterfall Technique or Highlight methods?

There are several nice hotels in the Woodstock area for anyone interested in hotels, I can PM you a list of some. I am willing to offer up some floor space and a inflatable bed if anyone needs it, however, I have cats, so anyone with allergies, be forewarned.

I have not been paying attention lately and just noticed this thread and that they split every day chit-chat into a bunch of smaller groups. Oh boy, now I will never get off this site. Anyway, I am in Alpharetta and would love to attend. I am gone all of July. If you do it in late Aug. that would be great. Just keep us posted. Thanks for doing this!!!!!

UPDATE: Just waiting to hear back from Maria (WoodstockStamper) to see if those dates were available at her clubhouse. We'll keep you posted.
Including me, we have 30 ladies interested in getting together so far!
Again, start thinking about what kind of techniques you'd like to learn. We have several ladies who are willing to teach us. Let's pick their brains. Once we decide on 2 or 3 techniques, I'll release a list of needed supplies for the lessons.
Also, start thinking about the shoebox swap. I do want to try to use some of the new sets in the new catty & maybe some of the new colors! Just an idea though.
Are we talking about 1 day or 2?
The end of Aug looks good for me. I would be interested in car pooling- sounds like there are lots of us near the Mall of Ga.
This sounds like a ton of fun ; THANKS
The clubhouse is available for us to use on Sat. Aug. 27th, should be fine for Sun too if we need it.
Can someone tell me what a shoebox swap actually entails, I have never done one of those before, or if I did, did not realize what they were called. :-)!!

Awww, pooey! I will just be returning from a week long trip. :( Boo hoo . . . Anybody close to Peachtree City/Sharpsburg/Newnan/Fayetteville/Palmetto/Fairburn/Tyrone/Union City/Jonesboro/Riverdale/Griffin who wouldn't be able to make that trip?
From what I understand, a shoebox swap is where we each design a swap & bring the necessary items for it (cut paper, ink, stamps, embellishments) for each person. Then we can all put the cards together on our own.
If I'm wrong, someone correct me. I've never done one either!
For regionals we did a shoebox swap and what we did is we designed and provided all the materials for 10-15 cards which fit in a shoebox. So if you have a card with brads, ribbon and what not you would put enough for 10-15 people in there. You would also include directions for each of the cards, and a sample one w/directions would go in your shoebox for us to look at. You would pass the shoebox to your right (or left) until you've completed 10-15 (designated amount). At regionals there were about 25-30 of us at it so we just did 10, so not everyone got everybody's swap.
I hope that makes sense. We don't really pick sets to use, we just create a card to share with everyone.
End of August sounds great to me!! Keep me posted on the details!!
Also, I am not a Demo and have just recently started stamping do I am up for any techniques since I truly know nothing!!
What about drawing names from all the demos then drawing names from non demos to be a hostess and if anyone wanted to order that person would get the credit?
Clear as mud?
I would like a shoebox swap with the amount of cards to equal the amount of people with a few extras for "mistakes".

I think Granny's ideas are both great, I wouldn't mind bringing a prize, are you thinking a stamping related prize (pack of paper, box of stamps, ink pad, etc), or just any type of prize?
I like the idea of drawing names to place an order and the credit can go to the person who was drawn too.
For those of us who are demos or just those with things they don't use anymore, we might could also bring any stamp sets or embellishments we have that we might was to trade, or sell to the meeting.

I would love to go to this too! I live in Woodstock, and I am a demonstrator. I'll contact my upline and sideline and they will most likely be interested too. The hostess/demo drawing is a fantastic idea! I have never done a shoebox swap--sounds like fun. Would we want to do normal swaps too?
Yep, finalize a date and let me know. You will probably have to pick what works best for you since every week-end will probably have something that will keep someone from attending. A twisted way to say that!!! If nothing else, maybe the Roswell, Norcross, Duluth people could meet around here. I would be glad to host.
I am from middle Georgia, Warner Robins and would love to get together w/you guys if the dates are right for my calendar. Let me know when and where you plan to get together. This sounds like so much fun for sure...
