I mailed my registration early Monday morning, but I mistakenly threw it in the Express Mail box like a dope. So I'm not sure how much longer it will take to get to you. Hopefully today.
Hi Sara:
I would love to come if I can get a ride or share a ride. A.H. Library is perfect for me. my problem is week end. I have no trasorptation at all. I will try to work at it. can I just pay the fee at the door if I can make it? I hate to pay for something and find out I cannot do it.
Ivy

Ok... I did it.... the room is booked. I LOVE the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. They were SO accomidating. PLUS I think this will be a great location... pretty central for most people... so ya'll better come!
I chose 11:00 to 3:00 thinking that we will break for lunch at about 1:00ish. I will also get dessert and snacks... lots of chocolate too!
I will put the swap rules on the registration form... I'm just waiting for my Panera menu to be faxed so I can complete the form. I will give everyone a selection of lunches to choose from.
I really look forward to meeting everyone. I missed out on the convention dinner, and I am so glad we have a lot of interest for non-demos too. The more the merrier!
Also feel free to bring your Stampin' friends. Just make sure to give me their info on the registration form.
PM me with any questions. If you want to continue to get updates just post to this thread... I will not be able to keep up with emailing everyone individually!
Hi Sara:
My fax#: 847-572-0898 Please also fax me the regiration form. Thanks
Ivy

I do not have a fax machine... maybe someone else does?? The registration form is on the first page of this thread, attached on the first post. I am so sorry you won't be able to come due to transportation problems. I will be very busy setting up tables and such, so I won't be able to asssit, but perhaps since you live in Arlington Heights you could take a cab or a bus... PACE has a great transportation service in arlington heights and I bet they have many busses to the library! I hope you can work it out!
I will come to this event. I can't afford not to. I will mail you the $15 check.
I may have to leave at 2pm. at least I get to meet with you. I understand you are busy. I wish I can give you a hand. I love crafts... and I was a trade show vendor. I knew most of the set-up. I made an arrangement to get a car in the am. must returen before 3pm. I am happy that I can come. you can call me in the morning if I can help you anyway to set up since I will have the car. and the library is very close to my home. I am a regular memebr of the library. I try to learn scrapbook from it  is not easy to follow the direction. you have no idea what I have waste....

Hi.....don't know if you are doing nametags or not, but CARRIE Vornkahl is the correct spelling ........can't wait....I know of 3 more sending checks in.....
I am not entirely familiar with all of the wonder things this site has to offer, but it would seem to me that maybe a calender - divided into metro or state areas could help from double booking events on the same day.
I know Bev has a similar event going and if we had some type of tracking of what is going on - i.e. on what date and times, maybe it would be helpful so we could participate in all the great offerings everyone has posted! Just a humble opinion -- for all I know there is a calender or flowchart of what is going on in each state, or metro area --- if so, let me know!!!
Everyone is so talented it would be great to get to go to everything !!!
Thanks for your time!!!

I do know about Bev's event... I also spoke to her and got her blessing for our event... she is not going to be promoting her gathering her at SCS this time. Plus we had already moved the date for this gathering back over and over again (starting LAST MAY!). There is always so much going on... it IS hard to keep track. Your idea is a good one! perhaps suggest it to the mods! Thanks!

Just checking to see if there have been anymore checks rec'd. I mailed mine last week and was just wondering if you had gotten it. Don't mean to be a pest but I have had the unfortunate experience of lost mail.
Tracy
No worries! I just added about 5 to the list... yours too Tracy!!!
By the way... just in the spirit of honesty I thought I'd tell the group... Tracy is such a sweetheart... she threw in an extra $10 to cover costs... NOT Nessesary! But It will be used for snacks and whatnot... I will be sure to buy some EXTRA chocolate in honor of Tracy!
Thanks everyone! I am starting to get VERY excited about this event!!! I also hope that those of you who are going to regionals (I couldn't get a ticket!) will bring stuff from regionals to share with all of us!
I guess I should make sure all of you know you are welcome to bring stamping art to share!
Also... if it's ok... one member of the group coming has NEVER stamped before! She is very interested in learning however, and I thought it would be ok for her to make some of our cards and yet NOT bring anything to share... I hope none of you mind. I figure this won't come up very often! The more the merrier I say!
Be sure to invite your friends! I have also been sending a little note to all Illinois or Southern Wisconsin SCS when I run into them! You can do the same! Or put a link to the event in your signature line!

I so did not do that for recognition but thanks anyway. I figured it was the least I could do for you being so wonderful to host such an exciting event. I'm counting down the days! And working on my project!
okay - another stupid question (I know - there is no such thing) - what do you mean when you say a "Full card"? is that a card, not a card front - or is it the size of the card?
Also - I have a number of SU stamps, but not so much on the other stuff - should I use what I have, or should I go and buy SU things (ie - I only have the ink spots, and don't think that they would last for 30 people making cards - or maybe they would???)

Not a stupid question! By "full card" I mean NOT a card front... but the whole card. Honestly; any size is ok too... the traditional being 4 1/4 X 5 1/2
Re: ink... make your sample with your spots and then just email me to remind me what color ink to bring... I would be happy to loan you some for the afternoon! Not that SU stuff is required; but most of the participants are demos; so we will get the most USE out of SU stuff!
I'm in Round Lake and would be interested if I knew what a shoebox swap was.
Can you fill me (a newbie) in on what this event is all about?
Thanks!
The Registration form has a lot of detail on WHAT a shoebox swap is... I will paste it here for you.... Please come! Bring a friend! Newbies welcome!!!
Shoe Box Swap Rules: Current Stampin Up! supplies STRONGLY encouraged (stamps, inks, accessories and paper). A quality card is one with multiple layers and at least one accessory (like ribbon, brads or buttons). We will make FULL CARDS for this swap (no need to provide envelopes). Bring supplies for 30 cards (and a couple extra supplies for mistakes!). Bring your own adhesive. Please bring TWO EXTRA completed shoebox Cards one for ME (I will create/bring one to make, but I probably wont have time to stamp myself!) and ONE to donate to the residents at the Devonshire Retirement Facility in Hoffman Estates. (I will supply the envelopes for the donation.)
Please no Glitter or Heat Embossing! Lets keep the Library clean ladies!!!
(In case you have never participated in a shoebox swap before This is how it works. Each participant brings supplies to complete 30 cards. You will bring your supplies in a shoebox or similar tote (thus the name). Each participant sets up a station with their card then we will all go around and make each others cards! If there are more than 30 participants we just each get to make 30 cards. Dont forget to make a sample of your card for your station, and the plus two for me and the Devonshire!)
Hand Stamped Gift Exchange: This is totally optional but Highly Suggested! The more participants we have, the more fun it will be! If you would like to play please bring a hand stamped gift valued at $5. Please wrap your gift (you can stamp the wrap!) We will have a fun gift swap with all the participants! Check out the anything BUT a card galleries at SCS for ideas!
Idea/Technique Sharing: You are encouraged to bring samples of hand stamped projects to share! If you are sharing something with a new or unusual technique, consider printing up a directional sheet for all the participants! I will have lots of space for display boards and other samples!
Sarah, just to clarify, all of the cardstock should already be cut to the correct sizes, right? (i.e., We're not supposed to just bring a stack of whole cardstock sheets) So all we're doing at the event is stamping and assembling each other's cards. Is that right? This will be my first Shoebox Swap, and I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing! I'm so excited about it!
Thanks for the question.... and for my 2000th post!
YES... bring the paper and everything all prepped and ready! The participants will just go around; stamping and assembling the cards... Participants should also provide their own adhesive!
Thanks Tracy! And EVERYONE who bumps us up... I appreciate the help!
I have a couple registrations to add! AND here is a crazy bit of info... Vicky..AKA Batavia-Soprano was the FIRST person to send me a Hand stamped card with her registration! It's cute too! I just wanted to point it out... I thought it was a bit surprising considering she is not event a DEMO!!!! (at least not for SU..)
Get those registrations in ladies! And be sure to tell your friends and all Illinois stampers you come across!!!
I have a silly question: why 'bump'? what is the real meaning of this word?

Sara: where are we suppose to check that our rresgistration has been received? I thought it was in this sight, but still only see 23 people on it.... the same as last week and I had sent in two registrations last week. Please advise . Thank you, Joanne

Ok... everything is updated now! Here is my excuse; the checks/registrations are upstairs and the computer is downstairs... and while one would think that all it would take is for me to carry them DOWN the stairs...when you add a 2 year old into the mix, 3 swaps in progress, workshops, classes, blogs... well YOU KNOW! It's crazy around here!
Seriously; I can not wait to meet you all! This will be SO MUCH FUN! I have the most fun dessert planned, and I have a Fabulous item for my Hand Stamped gift exchange... I hope you all are thinking about that!
