Closed and Getting ready! The 5th Utah Shoebox Swap is May 3rd!
The swap is May 3rd, So sign up and come and join the fun! Sign ups close April 12th!
Location:Missi's sister's condo clubhouse, Centerville.
Here are the much awaited directions to the swap from I-15. If you are coming another way, PM me.
From I-15 take the Centerville exit east and immediately get into the left hand turn lane. At the first light off the overpass turn left (Market Place Drive). Follow this road for about 2 miles (it will take you past McDonalds). At 1950 North turn right. There is a large sign right before the turn that says "Greenfields" (that is the development name). After you turn right go straight about 1 block and you will see the clubhouse on your right. It has a "clubhouse" sign on it and I will put balloons on the 1950 North street sign. The clubhouse address is 640 West 1950 North.
Any questions?
If you'd like, I will PM you my cell phone number in case you make a wrong turn and end up at Target (or even worse at the Centerville Roberts Crafts, and need guidance.
Time: 10:00-4:00
Swap Count: The final count for the swap is 13. That means you need to bring supplies for 12 people to make your project (you won't make your own). Any questions, please post them or PM me.
What is a shoebox swap? All cards are to be full cards. (If your project is something other than a card, that is ok too just bring a COMPLETE project.) Each person will need to bring enough supplies for everyone to make their cards including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc. The paper should be precut to the right size so there is no major cutting involved the day of the swap.
This is NVR (no vendor restrictions)
Each person is also asked to bring their own adhesive to use on all the projects we make. You will take your adhesive with you when you go from one project to the next. You might want to bring a pair of paper snips just in case you need them.
Please make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought.
Doorprizes- Yes! If you want to bring one, please do so that day and we will do a drawing every so many minutes according to how many prizes we have. (Bring a prize to win a prize... You can bring more than one)
If anything doesn't make sense, feel free to ask.
Additional Swap and Name Tag Contest: We will also do an optional card swap and name tag contest. Look at post #73 for more information!
We will do a potluck lunch, so when you leave your post to sign up, please say what you'll bring (dessert, main dish, snack, salad, etc)
Sorry! I'll get it straight now. Let me talk with my sister and find out if we can use her clubhouse, if not, you may have to coordinate the location!
Missi
Welcome Speckled tortie! We look forward to meeting you.
Missi- Any word from your sister about the clubhouse??
Also- to link the thread to your siggy you type what you want your signature to say, highlight the words that you want to be the link for the http, then click the little button that looks like a world with a chain link on it, it should then pop up a little window that you type in the http addy. Click ok and you should have the link.. Hope that helps.
Thanks YuRee, I'll work on the signature later. I've been busy wuith work and school and haven't connected with my sister. I should know this weekend.
Speckledtortie, I'm so happy you're coming! We always have a fun time.

Yeah! We're up to 11!! I talked to my sister and we can use her clubhouse. I will post directions closer to the swap. I've reserved it from 10am-5pm, so we can meet around those hours. Anytime is fine with me, but I know in the spring some gals might have their kids games or such in the morning, so any suggestions on times?

Yea! The morning would be better for me, maybe 10-2? Other opinions?
Thanks Debora for pointing out that I can't count.
I'm helpful that way. ;) I thought maybe you posted after a late night shift at work? But I was just so excited that we had that many more people coming! ((hugs!))
We still have a lot of time to get people to sign up though.. I don't think we have ever planned this far in advance! Yay to the coordinators of this one. ;) Let me know if you need me to help with anything.
I would love to come to one of these but I think I will have to pass this time. I will still be nursing my baby and I would love to come sometime when I don't have to worry about her. Just keep me in mind for another time.
Add me to the list, please. I'll bring a salad. I'll see if a friend wants to come when she gets back in town. I missed the last get together and it made me sad.

How old is the baby?? I know that we have had nursing babies at the swaps before.. If you still don't think you will be able to come, I am pretty sure we will have another one in Oct or Nov time frame..
I am looking forward to seeing some of you guys in Park City in February. I don't know what it will be like to go to TWO shoebox swaps and not be in charge of either one of them!
She will be 11 months old and mobile by then. I really need to start feeding her something else besides breast milk, but this is free:rolleyes:
Hey, bring her along! I brought my son to the first Utah Shoebox Swap when he was only 5 months old. There is plenty of room for her to roam around in the clubhouse and this would be a great time to introduce her to some soft baby snacks to nibble on. I'm sure that would keep her occupied, along with a few of her favorite toys. Bring a stroller so she can sit & watch or have a place to nap. (If it is too stressful for you to bring her, I totally understand...but we'll miss meeting you.)
Missi, I am so glad you were able to get the clubhouse in Centerville - - that seems to be a more central location for most everyone. It was nice and roomy too! I can't wait!!!
