CNY SplitCoastStampers Get Together #4
Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
First United Church of East Syracuse
823 Franklin Park Drive, East Syracuse, New York
(easy access from Routes 81, 90 and 690/481)
Join us for a day of stamping fun!
Cost – $15.00 per person ($16 via PayPal). Your registration must be paid no later than Sunday, April 22. You may mail your payment to either Kirstin (CrabbyAbbe) or Linda (lindylou1220). Pick the one of us you feel you “know” better and make your check payable to her, but please send all registration forms to Linda only. There are no refunds, but you may offer your spot to someone else. Here’s what’s planned:
Swaps – Bring card fronts to swap with everyone (while Stampin’ Up! products are preferred other quality products are acceptable!). You’ll know how many to make when we post the final count, and you’ll have plenty of notice since the deadline is nearly a month ahead. If you will be attending, but not participating in the card front swap, please tell us because that will affect the number of swaps everyone prepares.
Optional Swaps: See Post #2 Recipe Swap – Nancy (njgrose) will provide more information about 6x6’s. ATC Swap – Karen (kmk24) can tell you more about Artist Trading Cards Possible demo quality* only swap – Check with Kirstin (CrabbyAbbe) on this. *This means only SU! products can be used.
Shoebox Project – Everyone must participate in the Shoebox. Groups number either 10 or 11 (plus the four extras that need to be completed). See Post #3 for your groups. Bring your idea and all the supplies (precut but not prestamped or prepunched) needed for making it with your group. Again, current Stampin’ Up! products are preferred but other quality products are definitely acceptable. We’ll break the shoebox projects into smaller groups based on our final count. Tables will be set up to stamp the day away. You will need to bring four extra cards already completed as a thanks to our two hostesses; the other two will be used as door prizes.
Lunch –Sign ups for food and drinks would be appreciated. Everyone should participate. Everyone enjoyed sampling others’ treats at CNY #2, so please let us know on the registration sheet if you’ll bring something to share. (Also see note below about Make & Take for All.)
Make & Take for All – CNY #3 featured several large group Make & Takes. If you would prefer to do this instead of providing a food item, please tell us.
Goody Bags – for all! Everyone will leave with a bag full of fabulous goodies.
Gift Swap – If you would like to bring a wrapped gift (for those of you who are SU! demos, think “hostess gift”), we will draw for those so that everyone who brings one will also leave with one. Value on these should be about $5, and stamped projects are always appreciated! If it’s something you’d like to take home, it’s probably perfect! This swap will be done “Yankee Trader” style. Be sure to include your name somewhere inside so the lucky winner knows who to thank.
Other Stuff – Please bring your own labeled items for your personal stamping needs, especially your favorite adhesive. These are the items you just can’t stamp without. You will likely need lots of adhesive. Make and wear a nametag with your name (and your SCS name) so that we know you on sight. Plus, this time we’ll have a prize for the nametag voted “best of”. This could be a fun way to learn everyone’s names!
Note: All funds collected will be spent on the event.
Complete the registration form* and forward with your $15 payment ($16 via PayPal) by April 22.
We'll repeat on October 20th -- same place! Put it on your calendar.

*Snail mail or e-mail your completed registration form to Linda only. It got too confusing last time with two people collecting the forms.
The registration form is attached. Please be sure you send it to me either by e-mail or snail mail.
Directions to First United Church of East Syracuse, 823 Franklin Park Drive. Get the specifics from mapquest.com or randmcnally.com. But, generally speaking, most everyone will be taking Rte. 481 (from 81, 690 or 90) and exiting at Kirkville Road WEST (exit 5W). Franklin Park Drive is only about a mile from the exit and will be on your right. You will pass one light, two gas stations at the corner where the light is, and a school (Bishop Grimes). The church is just a short way up Franklin Park Drive the road and will also be on your right.
If you have headed in the wrong direction on Kirkville Road and get to that light, you will see a church on your left and houses on the other three corners. That's Fremont Road; turn around and come back the other way.
FOOD INFO: Those who came to the Fall get together will remember that we had LOTS of leftovers. Please remember when making/purchasing your food item that you do not need enough to feed an army. There is a very nice variety coming: donuts - cake - muffins - cookies - brownies - chips & dip - specialty dips - casseroles/main dish items - several salads and sides - bread & butter - cheese & crackers - fruit - and more, including chocolate covered pretzels. There will be bottled water, coffee (including decaf), and assorted sodas and, of course, candy for the tables.
So, my suggestion is to make/bring a "normal" amount not a super size. I am sure there will still be leftovers but everyone should be able to find something they like. If you don't believe that to be the case, please feel free to pack a sandwich. There is some (limited) refrigeration, but if items to be served cold, especially the sodas, could arrive on ice that would be very helpful. There are outlets to plug in crockpots.
Other "directions"...
Here's Kirstin's (CrabbyAbbe) on the demo-quality swap:
1. you do not have to be a demo
2. current SU product is required
3. can be anything, either a full card or any 3-d item
pm CrabbyAbbe if you want to join
Info from Karen (kmk24) about the ATC swap is in PDF below.
The write up from Nancy about the recipe swap is included in the attached Word file. If you cannot access the file, please PM Nancy (njgrose) for it. It's too big to post in the thread.
Here are the groups as randomly drawn by Kirstin from a hat-shaped bowl or maybe it was a bowl-shaped hat.
I am posting a spreadsheet with my understanding of what everyone is doing swap-wise. Please let me know if there are any changes due to error on my part.

HOORAY!! And I am so glad to see I am already signed up! How'd ya know Linda?? See you all there! I'll be paying and registering when I see my peeps on Saturday.
I subscribed earlier today when I first noticed this thread was started. Still planning to attend but will register close to the last minute since I have to start the job search thingy and it might hinder actually going (although I am avoiding jobs with weekend hours).
Probably will not do the recipe swap but might do demo quality or ATC (not both). Interested too in the gift swap.
Well, gotta logoff (didn't open the registration form yet) and get dinner ready.
I'm afraid I might not make this gathering as it is the same day as Race for the Cure and I run that every year. I'm trying to come up with a creative way around the problem but I may not make it. I'll keep you posted!

Diane (cookiestamper) -- I think Kris (conductorchik) is planning to come and possibly also Diane617. They might be good to hook up with for a ride.
Kari, I'm psychic, of course.
Paige, I hope you can work it out. :(
Karen, I will do this as quick as I can. (I know, stop talking and do it.)
Tina, hoping you can make it. It will be fun!!!
I really am planning on it but you never know what the schedule will end up being when you look for a job. I'd love to take another year off but hubby won't support my rubber habit and I just don'tmhave enough other valuable to sell!
It does seem that Tony will be staying home so I'm hoping to stay at Gayla's or someone 'coz a motel bill will nix my plans. I am very very excited about my solo roadtrip (I actually hate driving when other people are in the vehicle but love to drive solo; I will be somewhat nervous about getting lost but not about highway driving - almost all my driving is highway, especially when I first got my license.)
Since I believe in positive thinking, I'll see y'all in May!
Small hijack of this thread: f you are willing to help a friend of mine, who is a phenomenal baker, would you vote for her black and white cookie? Wendy Osborne's entry is at the bottom left of the page. I know the power of SCS. Thanks, all!
I'm in!!!! Can't wait!! Don't tell my dad though - it's his birthday.
Actually, my parents are going away for his birthday, so it all worked out!!! Not to mention, even if they didn't....I'd be home in time for 6:30 dinner!
Anyone needing a ride from the Binghamton area is more than welcome to ride with me.
