Think the Subway sounds great. Would be glad to donate paper plates, napkins, or snack items. Just let me know.
What about tables? Will we need to bring plastic tablecloths? I am a very messy stamper and need plastic all around me. LOL. Most clubhouses aren't really set up for stamping parties.
What hours were you thinking of holding this?
are we going to have a final count of how many are planning on showing up a little in advance so we know how many projects to make up, or are we just setting a number?
i'm not totally sure about how a shoebox swap is going to happen. do we have stations set up, or is each individual going to show her card and everybody do it at the same time or what. if the latter, do we need to bring our own adhesive and cutters and such?
the yard sale or christmas game sounds like a blast. i love the christmas game. we play it every year at out staff party.
I'm fine with whatever on the food; just let me know. Whenever you decide on all of the activities, please post specific instructions for everything. I want to get everything right!

This sounds like a great fun, especially because I can't go to convention this year! Do you have a limit on how many can attend or are you still open. I am a SU demo and I live in Blue Ridge. What time are you starting the event, and where in Woodstock are you meeting? Are you going to make this a 2 day event?

I will check on the clubhouse for Aug 27 and 28th and get back to everyone. If you want to find it on mapquest, you can type in 103 Myrtle Rd, Woodstock, GA 30189 for the directions.
When I mapquested the address I didn't have any luck but I pm Maria & she told me that it was in the Victoria Cottages neighborhood near Victoria Harbour Marina off Bells Ferry Road. 9:00 is okay for me but will it give everyone else enough time to get there? Getting the rules for the swap ASAP will be helpful as this summer is booking up fast. Full cards or just fronts?
I think 9:00 am is a good start time, works for me since I'm around the corner !
The clubhouse is the Victoria Cottages community center and it is at 103 Myrtle Rd., Woodstock, GA 30189. The 27th is a Saturday and we are booked in the center that day. If you are travelling on I-75 going N or S, you will take the Ga. Hwy 92 Exit, and head East on Hwy 92. You will then go North on Bells Ferry Rd., then left onto Victoria Rd. You will go through a few 3 and 4 way stops, staying straight on Victoria Rd. (you are heading South on Victoria at that point). You will make a right onto Myrtle Rd. and the clubhouse is the first building on the left.
As mentioned previously, I can pick up Subway sandwiches and have them available for those that want to have food there for lunch, would just need people to tell me before hand if that is what they want to do, and I can place the order and pick up that Saturday morning. I could either reimbursed at the meeting when we find out who all wants to go that way.
I would like to see complete cards for the swaps (just because it is easier for me if I want to use them later to send out to friends), but will go with the majority vote on that. Seems like at last count there was something like 35 or so ladies planning to attend....so I would at least plan to make that many cards if uou are swapping, I don't remember if a consensus was reached, but I voted for NVR on swaps, but all SU on shoebox swap. Anyone know what the majority wanted?
Anyone needing hotel info. please PM me and I will get you some phone numbers of local hotels.
Maria

My name is Jennifer and I too live in GA! I am a relatively new demo and I would be interested in this event. My upline is in New York and I have been trying to find local demos!
I'm in Kennesaw, and am a demo, and would love to join you all!!! If you still have room please count me in!! I love the shoebox idea and technique idea. Lunch - I'm not a big sandwich eater, but would be just as happy to bring a little something for myself if that is what you decide, pr we could go w/ pizza. Dominos' will often give deals if you order a bunch of pizzas. I am also available to help bring snacks or whatever is needed. I will get w/ my DH and see if it is OK if someone stays with us, we have a spare bedroom.
Wondering what everyone thinks about Trading cards for swap vs full cards? Just a suggestion, as we will be doing full cards for the shoe box I am assuming. Linda
I hope that goes well!! Are you having fun? I don't think spending time with my in-laws would constitute a vacation. Now .... I would probably need one *after* I spent time with them!! LOL!!
Be careful on your way to Miami! Have a great time down there.
So many ideas about different events to have at the meeting have been posted since the date was set it is a little confusing as to what we need to have ready. As soon as you decide what the program will be - PLEASE post it for us "slowpokes" who are new to stamping and need all the time we can get to be ready.
I have a few questions:
Do the cards need to be complete - so we can just swap?
Do we need to have all the parts ready so we can assemble them on site? Are we suppose to use only SU items or does it matter if we use other sources.
Since I am in the moving process and all my scrapin/stampin stuff is sitting in boxes waiting for arrival to my new craftroom I will be a "last minute Louie" to get my shoebox swap ready. I am very excited about meeting everyone - it's gonna be a fun time!!! Theresa
WOW!! Finally found you guys!!! PHEWW! I'm a N. FL who would like to join in. I'm hopefully coming up and crashing with Beth (TMDMom). I say you list a deadline date for RSVPing so that you can put up a finalized schedule of events for the day. EVERYTHING sounds wonderful. I am a demo and would help in any way I can. I will not be bringing any really big items with me (cooler, etc...) but of course will be bringing my stampin stuff! Looking forward to the date!
I agree that a deadline for attending should be set and that we need to know exactly what we should bring before we arrive, there are a lot of great ideas that have been posted, I'm sure it is hard to pick which ones to go with.
What does everyone think about a deadline of July 31, that will still give everyone 26 days to prepare if they join on the last day? I would think that it is OK to bring swaps that are just fronts, since I think most people were OK with NVR on the swaps. I would think that it would be nice to have the Shoebox swaps to be full cards, and only SU materials. What do you all think? I have never done Trading Cards, but would love to learn how to do that.
I can have both Dominos or Pizza Hut deliver pizzas if people like, and I can also pick up Subway sandwiches for those attending that prefer a healthier fare. I think that when we set a deadline, we should also ask for lunch preference so I can order ahead of time.
I will plan on bringing items that I am interested in selling or trading. I am also up for any of the games posted, and the door prize idea, and the ability to order from the demo drawn out of a hat.
I am looking forward to learning some new techniques, what if all the demos listed the technique they are willing to demonstrate so that we have time allotted for everyone that will be teaching?
Maria

You might want to post a list of all of the people that have officially signed up, and then add to it as people join (like they do for swaps). I noticed that some people have responded to the other thread as well as this one, so we probably need to make sure that no one gets overlooked that is planning on coming. This is just an idea to help us figure out exactly how many to count on.

Ok, all you southern belles! Are you ready for some STAMPIN?!?!?!
Saturday, August 27th
9:00am - ????
Victoria Cottages Community Center
103 Myrtle Road
Woodstock, GA
This event is open to ALL stampers!!!
Deadline to join: July 31st
There will be a card-front only NVR swap as well as a full card SU only shoebox swap.
We'll have SEVERAL techniques being demoed. We'll get a final list together of what is being demoed so that you know what supplies to bring.
There will be door prizes! Feel free to bring any items that you would like to B/S/T. Of course, within the 'legal' SU limits.
Several of our local gals have offered housing to our out-of-towners. PM me if you are interested. Or for hotel information, please PM Maria (Woodstock Stamper).
From what I can gather, the following people have 'officially' signed up for this event:
Please excuse the newbie/half-wit question, what's a shoebox swap?
Sara,
It's not a half-wit question.. Trust me, I'm not even sure! LOL
Here's something that was posted previously. Hope it helps!
Shoebox Swap repost:
For regionals we did a shoebox swap and what we did is we designed and provided all the materials for 10-15 cards which fit in a shoebox. So if you have a card with brads, ribbon and what not you would put enough for 10-15 people in there. You would also include directions for each of the cards, and a sample one w/directions would go in your shoebox for us to look at. You would pass the shoebox to your right (or left) until you've completed 10-15 (designated amount). At regionals there were about 25-30 of us at it so we just did 10, so not everyone got everybody's swap.
