You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Let's not stress over the little details until after the 31st. I think the organizers are probably waiting until then to put a final count and all of the little details we will need to prepare. I thought the original idea was for the day to be mostly a shoebox day (at least that was my impression when I signed up), so everyone would be doing a shoebox card with the other activities being optional. I am anxious to get all of the exact details too, but I am more anxious to come and meet all of you and have a fun day making a lot of new cards! I don't really care what we do, I'll just be loving the time away from all the responsibilities of home, dh, and work!!

I'm with you jewellh. I'm looking forward to escaping reality too! I am just hanging loose until the organizers give us a final details post, and then I'll start working towards whatever we are supposed to be doing. O.k. well maybe I won't start until the night before (oh the life of a procrastinator ), but I'm flexible for whatever they decide! Just looking forward to the fun!

Wow... I go away for 4 days and this post gets a TON of activity!!
Ok, I've sorted through most of the posts. I agree, things are starting to get confusing.
Initially, we were going to have 2 swaps. A NVR card front-only AND
SU! complete card. From what I've seen & heard, the majority would like to have FULL card swaps (both NVR & SU!). Also, I do not want to see ANYONE cutting a TON of paper only to be stuck with leftovers.
We will have a sign up for BOTH swaps. And BOTH swaps will be SHOEBOX.
SHOEBOX SWAP = In a shoebox, place a sample of your card, the 'recipe', enough supplies for each person signed up for swap.
* If you are interested in participating in the NVR (no vendor restrictions), please PM me with NVR swap as your subject.
* If you are interested in participating in SU! only swap, please PM me with SU! only.
You MUST PM me regarding the swaps no later than AUGUST 4th.
Techniques: Remember voting is until July 31st, so if you haven't voted yet, please do so. Once I have the results of the votes, I will find a few willing participants to demo the techniques.
Once the demonstrators for the techniques have been found, I will find out from them what their projects will be & EXACTLY what supplies you will need to bring. You will be supplying your own stuff for the techniques.
REMINDER: There will be an 'admission' fee for the day of $10. This will go towards the cost of the building AND food.
Hope this info helps.

Welcome back! Come on ladies, sign up for the shoebox swap so we'll have the opportunity to make a whole lotta cards!! If the majority only choose one or the other, we will go home with fewer cards at the end of the day, and I'm with Granny on wanting as many at the end of the day as possible! Shoebox swap is eaiser because we only have to make one card and just cut the paper for everybody else to make our card! Again, I'm game for anything, but I just thought I'd add my thoughts. Looking foward to getting more info!

I think that if there are going to be a lot of swaps, that it might be best to put the supplies for each (cut paper, ribbon, embellishments) in an individual baggies inside the box-maybe with a copy of the recipe too, since there may not be time for everyone to make all the shoebox swaps and watch the demonstrations.
Maybe we could set up some stations with a shoebox on the table and four chairs and have people rotate between the tables as the four finish, they move on to the next table. What do you all think?
I would like to sign up to do the NVR and the SU shoebox swaps.
Sorry, I have not posted any sooner, been out the country the last 5 days.

Just a note for everyone that is interested in attending that we said the cut off date for joining would be July 31----this Sunday. That way we can get a final number to give everyone that is making swaps. Also, don't forget to vote on the technique you want to see demo'd. And, also let the organizer (Allison) know if you plan to do a Swap by PM'ing her. As a reminder, we are asking for $10 at the door to cover room rental and the cost of food for lunch(either SubWay sandwiches or pizza). There is a refrigerator and a microwave and an ice maker in the clubhouse if you are bringing drinks. If you need accomodation help, please feel free to PM me (Maria).
If you are a Ga. resident, remember that there are sales tax holidays the 28th-31st, and if you are planning on ordering some supplies for the swaps, those dates would be a great time to order :-). Items that are $20 and less are tax free.
I am so excited to get together and stamp with everyone, I believe we agreed to start on Sat. at 9 am. and we can stamp til we drop :-).

Just making sure I am on the sign up list. Also please put me down for the SU shoebox swap, I'll be bringing one. Still thinking about the NVR shoe box swap, and will let you know if I come up with a shoebox for that one also. Hey, just noticed you are also doing the 51 card trading card swap, Me too! Linda
Am so looking forward to the shoebox swap.My daughter Rebekah and I are definitely in for the SU only swap, but don't think we'll have time for the NVR.
Ths type swap is all new to me.Are we going to bring our own adhesive? We live 35 miles north of Chattanooga,so I guess we'll leave about 7AM to get there by 9:00.What do ya think?
Allison,
Just wanted to let you know that I'm a demo. If you weren't going to have a mystery demo I wouldn't have said anything, but I want to be in on the chance for orders.
Thanks,
Mindy
Hey - Allison ... I think I'm going to have to take my name off the list for attending. :(
I really hate the thought, but I don't think that I should drive all the way to Woodstock alone and dh has to be here. I will be 35 weeks pregnant, and normally, that wouldn't be a big deal. Unfortunately, this pregnancy hasn't been really ... normal. LOL!!
I hope everyone has a fantastic time. I was really hoping to join you. Make sure you keep SCS updated so that I know what I missed!!!!!!!
WhooHoo! I am soooo glad What a sweetheart, Niecybug is!
Now, if I could only think up a swap...
I am, too!!! I was so upset that I couldn't come. Yeah, a swap .... I have to think of one, too. Oh yeah .. Guess I need to let Allison know that I'm swapping, too, huh?? LOL! Off to PM her...
Hmmm .... I think I will have to do something special for Niecybug .....;)
Thank you ALL for voting!!! You definately have spoken and have made some GREAT choices!
In case you are wondering, the top 4 techniques were:
Watercolor Crayons
Stamping on tin boxes (altoid boxes)
Waterfall cards
Drunken Chalks
DEMOS: We are now in search of a few of you who are willing to share your knowledge of these techniques. Some of you have already said you were willing to teach a technique. Please PM me which technique you are willing to teach.
Once you have chosen a technique, come up with a project for that technique & a list of supplies needed for the project.
Non-Demos: Once I have the demos matched up the techniques, we will tell you ALL of the supplies needed for each technique project so that you can be prepared to learn.
Again, thank you for ALL of the feedback that you have given me. This gathering is going to be a GREAT success.
Got some cake mixes sitting around here and I need them gone...so I'll bake a bundt cake with one of them and bring it to the meeting. Subway sounds good but I need dessert!!! Let me know about plastic tablecloths, paper plates, napkins, etc. We could all sign up for something. If the clubhouse has a coffee maker it would be nice to have coffee to start the morning. ... can you tell I'm into food LOL!!!
