Law-Wife, please go ahead and plan the event! Puggins DID a wonderful job, and I'm sure you will be successful, as well! As far as I'm concerned, the more chances to 'gather' the better!

Howdy Ladies! I had so much fun at the fall gathering! I hope we have a spring one. I do have a question... Am I still allowed to join in the fun since I own Treehouse Stamps now? I sure hope so... please let me know the rules!

Ashley,
I'm so excited to hear about your news! You are very talented. I hope you do very well with your business.
I would think that if I was allowed to go to the Fall gathering (being a TAC demo) that you would be welcome as well.

I so agree! Evreyone has to start somewhere sometime! I'd love to come stamp with everyone (and hear all about Ashley's new venture!)

will the event you are talking about be taking place in bloomington or indy?
I'm sorry I haven't responded much lately. I found out that I am pregnant with our fifth child and it's been worse this time around. I've been laying around as much as possible with a bowl attached around my neck! I still have about 3 more weeks to go (supposedly) of sickness so I'm just trying to survive! I think I'm going to have to postpone this gathering until early May. I just don't have the energy to finish it. I'll let you guys know of a new date. I'm really sorry!
I think the spring Bloomington event is now on hold at least until May (see Law Wife's post above). Puggins, the OP, has not set a date for a spring Indy event as I far as I can tell unless she began another thread someplace else. If so, can someone post it here? Bloomington is still more convenient for me, but Indy is doable too. After all, I just went there this Saturday for the stamp convention!

What did you get? I fell in LOVE with the folding shirts and got one of the t-shirts. It was hard to narrow it down that much....but I'm saving up for a new camera. I had fun and can't wait for it to come back next year.
Kentucky lady here would love to scrap! when are you guys stamping? I think Brown County would fun. I always love Brown County.Anythought of hookin up in Brown County?

I got some collage goodies at Vintage Charmings, a few rubber stamps at Beeswax, and some acrylic shapes at Another Stamp Company. I was pretty good, for me that is! I also got some reinkers at Gary Burlin because it's hard to beat his selection on those.

Nothing to do with this but I have heard that there may be a stamping retreat in Nashville in June. My SIL has promised to let me know if she hears more. Should I keep everyone updated?

Yes, please. Nashville/Brown County is on my way to visit my boyfriend so it works for me too.
Keep me informed too. I just posted hoping to get a group together in Indianapolis; but, let me know what is going on in the spring. Would love to get together with some card makers.
I would love to join in the fun! I have a church on the south side of indy with a HUGE gym that I could probably reserve, but I am not a planner. If you let me know a date, I could probably reserve. Maybe we should form a committee instead of one person doing everything.
Okay, Stampermomof5 has a possible place on the southside of Indy. That gives us a central place to stamp for both Bloomington and Indy gals. Also Stampermomof5 proposed a committee. I am all for committees. So here is my proposal:
I would like for Law Wife and Puggins to co-chair. I would be more than happy to help in any capacity, but I am best with ideas rather than details. I test software for a living and make cards for my true self. So let me know if you want me to help. If you send email I will reply and we can talk by phone.
So then there would be a couple of committees:
Invitation and Registration (handles pr, upfront monies, perhaps we should have a not-for-profit account set up we could use annually)
Food
Logistics (set up of the gym, incidentals like paper bags for trash etc.)
Entertainment (doorprizes, demonstrations by local stores, or indendents such as CTMH and Stamping up and anyone else, maybe even freebies from vendors?)
Then I was wondering about some other kinds of things....what about a stamping garage sale. For a small fee, you get an additional table and at a certain time, we can sell things we don't want or use anymore to others.
Singers....anyone have a quartet or group that would be willing to sing?
You all don't know me from Adam....every year I participate in putting on a holiday show for my chorus. We provide a dinner for 200 people in a gym. I chair a committee every year so hopefully I have some skills other than getting ink on my fingers <WINK> <WINK>.
So Law Wife and Puggins (especially)....and the rest of Indiana ladies send Stampermomof5 and I an email indicating interest for a StampIn....ha ha....
Stampermomof5, can you go ahead and see what dates in the next six months your gym would be available whether there is a cost for the gym?
With Mother's Day, Father's Day and July 4th coming up unless we move quickly, this will have to move to September and be a fall event....
Hey everyone...sorry to have been MIA...didn't mean to leave this hanging. For some reason, I wasn't getting any of the posts this past month.
I have been super-involved in a project at work (see my blog for details) and also the move of the office in a couple of weeks. Because of that I haven't had time to even think about an event! I am still interested in doing something for the Indianapolis area, but I really can't commit to a time table yet.
I am pleased to say my SU! business is taking off, so I have been having workshops too, and the SU! convention is the end of July....gee...the summer is almost over!
I would suggest anyone wanting to have an event to just jump in and do it. It doesn't have to be elaborate, just get stampers together and they make their own magic...right? :p
I hope law-wife is feeling better with her morning sickness, I only have one child (out of the nest) but can't imagine what she must be going through. It sure doesn't sound like fun.
Sorry I am having such a hectic time of it right now. Last year, when I had the event, I was unemployed, so had lots of time to plan and coordinate. Fortunately, this year is a totally different story. I am gainfully employed and loving it!:-D
I'll be sure to post if things change and I can get involved with an event. I am sure anyone who tackles this can do a great job...

Hi, glad to see we are moving again. I can get the school where I work for an event, it is already cleared. No cost, we just need to leave it as we find it. We could use the gym or the cafeteria or both. It is just north of Greenwwod Mall, just off US31. We would just need to schedule around summer cleaning, but that might be just after school is out.
I know, Carol, I have been really bad about the CD, and I sincerely apologize to all 34 of you stampers! I planned to do some digital scrap pages, but that's not working so well. I just need to do something, right?
Now that my big event at work is done, I will make time to get them copied and in the mail. I will target May 15th as the drop dead date....either I get them in the mail....or  dum da dum dum......
Keep me honest, Carol....

Oh, I was just thinking about that CD the other day! I had SO much fun at the fall gathering and would love to meet everyone again sometime. Thank you for doing the CD, Kathy! I know that must take a lot of time and energy...two things I always find myself lacking! LOL :p
