MD**09/25/2010 SBS Laurel, MD - Maryland City VFD Hall - Full starting wait list
Hello Stampers. It’s time for another Shoebox swap in Laurel, Maryland.
The shoebox swap will be on Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 9:00am until 4:00pm, at The Maryland City Volunteer Fire Department Hall, 3498 Fort Meade Road, Laurel, MD 20724. Doors will not open till 8:30am to allow me to finish setting up. This Swap will have no particular theme and will be NVR (No Vendor Restrictions aka you can use stamp from any company).
There will be room for 26 stampers (over 18 years of age please) to attend and each stamper will bring a shoebox swap for 25 people to make and something to share for lunch. There is a $10 non-refundable charge per person for hall rental and will need to be sent to me prior to the swap to secure your spot. Everyone who signs up must have a Splitcoaststamper ID. After you sign up I will contact you with my address to send in the fee. Anyone new to my shoebox swaps or anyone who didn’t provide me with their information for the last swap will be asked to provide name, address, home phone, cell and email. This info is for my use only if I have to contact you regarding the swap.
All cards are to be full cards. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc., along with your own adhesive and basic tools (like scissors, bone folder, etc) to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. Each person is to provide a sample of your card for reference in your box along with typed instructions telling how to make your card. Please also separate your supplies in to individual baggies or envelopes containing everything each person needs to do your card. This really helps make the swap go more smoothly.
Again, this is going to be a NVR (No Vendor Restrictions), you can use ANY COMPANIES stamps and embellishments (yes even Stampin' Up!) but PLEASE use Stampin’ Up! cardstock and inks. Stampin’ Up! Paper and ink colors can either be current or retired.
Everyone is asked to please bring something to share for lunch. When you sign up for the swap, please post what you’ll bring for lunch. I will have access to the kitchen for ice and refrigerator use but not the stoves, so please do not bring anything to be baked or that needs to be heated up. Crock pots are always welcome.
There will be several door prizes throughout the day.
I will be setting up a FREE table where you can bring in anything you have that is stamping or scrapbooking related that you don’t want any more and you are willing to give away to find it a good home, like used sheet of stickers, cardstock or page kit leftovers that you don’t need/want any more. You know one stampers trash is another stampers treasure – LOL.
Also this time I wanted to try doing a mini yard sale. I will have several tables around the room marked as Yard Sale tables. Each attending stamper may bring 10 items to sell. I am limiting it to 10 items each to see how it goes this time and how space goes. Each item must be clearly marked with a price and who is selling the item. Put small items in a zip loc bag with your info and price clearly marked on the bag. It will up to each seller if they will accept checks or just cash. You will be responsible for the items you bring and neither I nor the Fire Department will be responsible for any lost, broken or stolen items. Please let me know when you sign up if you will be bringing any yard sale items so I can try and judge space.
So your list of stuff to bring is: your shoebox swap (any theme), something to share for lunch, and your basic tools (scissors, adhesive, bone folder, etc).
I look forward to seeing you there.
Kathy

This is a first for me, LOL. I am signed up for a second SBS before I'm finished with my card for the first one. Well, I'm always ready by the actual date, so I know I'll be fine. And I know I have stuff I can donate for the "free" table ;^)
Ahhh, thanks! :p Been awhile since we stamped together - and seems forever since lunch!! Way overdue on BOTH ;) I better get my swap ready now, though, will have regionals the weekend afterwards - need to do more of those swaps, too!!
Kathy, I don't think I will make this one...... :( I need to discuss with DH as it is our anniversary! Geeze, the things we let get in our way.
What??? No Jane. It just won't be the same. No one trying to eat all of the mac & cheese. No one forgetting to put stuff back in the shoebox....
Just teasing but you will be missed. You have a fantabulous day with the hubby. If you stop by my house the week after the swap I will show you all of my cards.
Inky Hugs,
Kathy

Why not make more of your card for the 9/25 swap. You can stamp them ahead of time and put them together during your down time at the swap.
I have been making extras of my club/class cards for my regional swaps so far.
Inky Hugs,
Kathy
My card for regionals is actually the card I made for this weekend's SBS. But, it uses a non-SU embossing folder - so, I am stamping a background on the regional ones. See - I actually planned ahead!! In a few weeks, though, I am sure I will be pretty sick of that one!! So, might go ahead and make extras of whatever I come up with for yours - IF I don't wait til the evening of the 24th to come up with that one!! LOL!!;)
I sent you a private message (pm) with where to send the $10 swap fee to. If you have any questions about the swap you can pm me or ask the list here and I am sure someone can/will give you an answer.
Inky Hugs,
Kathy

Hello! Please sign me up for the SBS. I'll bring a couple different bags of chips and a thing of dip and a thing of salsa.
As of right now I don't think I'll have yard sale stuff, but I'll try to verify that this weekend & I'll let you know if something comes up.
Since Jane won't be there - WAHHHHHH!!! - Mom will probably do something other than mac & cheese - we can't have it if Jane is missing. Sign Mom up for a dessert and I'll bring beef BBQ & rolls.
