I know Crystal (caspen1973) is supposed to be coming. We're supposed to drive together and share a room. Maybe they aren't all watching the thread...Do you want me to send a PM to all that said they were interested and let them know you are looking for payment by the end of this month?
Lorien I did get your PM, I also got one from Crystal, but I really, truly can't tell you for sure till after Christmas. I still want to but I have so many irons in the fire right now that I'm not sure which way is up!!!
Hi! I got a PM from Lorien. I'm definitely coming, and I'll be bringing a friend. I'm mailing both of our registrations this weekend. We already booked a room at the hotel for Fri night. I didn't want to stay the night before, because I live so close and the cost of the room was too much for just me. But we're splitting the cost so it's affordable for me now. I just wanted to let you know the 2 of us will be coming. Can't wait!! Jennifer

Well, I hope you can come! I'm planning a TWISTED Challenge!!!!
Got Ms Lorien's PM today....Thanks for the reminder!!
The best I can do is wait till mid January (at least) and take my chances. Hubby travels alot and we do good to have a two week notice. SOO, IF I do come down it would be just for Saturday afternoon for a few hours of visiting and stamping.
Sorry, wish I could be more specific, but its out of my hands. I'll be watching the thread though!!
I've been slow to get my registration to you - Sorry!! When I thought we could meet up last weekend I figured I would just give it to you in person, then we couldn't make it work :(
I will put my registration, along with my mom's (Karen) and sister's (Lauri), in the mail this weekend. I know you received Carole's and Norice's, that just leaves Cindy and Diann from my group so I'll bug them both about it this weekend.
Better get in gear and reserve that hotel room today too!

I'm coming, as is my friend, KPrakken - I will send my registration in tomorrow - we will be there for both days - I'll do the shoebox swap; will we have an idea how many to prepare for befoe the actual event? Sorry if this is answered in this thread, but I haven't been on SC much lately as I just haven't been able to find the time - you know, December and all!
Ladies, I'm still hoping to come, but my DS just informed me that he thinks his "Baja" race is that weekend in the upper. He's a senior this year and being on the Baja team is a really big deal to him as only one senior from each school in the district is choosen to be on the team. The problem is most of the races are so far away - the U.P. is the closer one, most are out of state (what's up with that anyway?) The second problem is my "mommy" heart doesn't know if I could take watching him drive a "souped up" go-cart on the ice!!! Anyway, he couldn't remember for sure which weekend in February it is so I gave him heck and told him he'd better find out for sure this week! I'll keep you posted.
Well DS's race is the following weekend, so now I just need to make up my mind whether or not I want to brave the weather! I promise to let everyone know for sure right after Christmas.

Aren't you in the thumb? You could me up with me and Crystal in Flint and ride with us the rest of the way...
We are now at 12 paid attendees. Despite the initial flood of interest, and Lorien's diligent efforts to contact everyone who indicated an interest, I just haven't gotten as many registrations as I hoped for.
I have $300 in registration fees. The meeting room is either $225 for approx. 15 persons or $450 for 30, but each guest room, each night results in a $15 discount. So based on what everyone has communicated to me I think we are at about 10 rooms-- *just* able to cover the larger meeting room if no one cancels a guest room reservation. At this point I would be more comfortable going with the smaller room so that a) we have a budget for supplies, prizes, etc. and b) I am not left with a big bill if life happens and a few cannot keep their reservations.
A few people have indicated their intent to register... so I will see where things stand on 12/31.
Hope that all makes sense.
I know we will have a great time whether we are few or many!
i'll be sending my money in next week. is anyone coming from the Muskegon area who would like to carpool? anyone need someone to split a room with? i can't wait for this!
Will they let you reserve one now, and if the other is still available, and the need arises, change the room?
I'm sure lots of folks have tons going on right now so hopefully in the next couple days as the hustle and bustle subsides they will remember to get on this...Otherwise they will be sitting home on the 9th & 10th of February wishing they were having a grand ole time with us!!!
I'm with Lorien, maybe they will let us reserve the smaller and then upgrade at a later date. I know that several people had mentioned having to wait till January to decide. I also know that it is very difficult to plan for "x" number of people and not have an exact count till right before the event. Let us know what you come up with.
I've gotten a couple more reservations so the bigger room is looking do-able...woo hoo!
I've been terrible about getting mine in the mail - but I physically put it in the hand of my mailman today, so you should have it shortly. Included in my envelope are six registrations - so hopefully that will help!
In case you want a heads up on my people:
Me - staying both nights, doing both swaps, hosting a "find-it" challange
Lauri - staying Friday night, doing both swaps
Karen - staying Friday night, doing shoebox swap
Pam - staying Friday night, not doing swaps
Sherri - staying Friday night, not doing swaps
Cindy - I'm not sure how many nights, she's rooming with Carole, whose reservation you have already, so that will be whatever she said for nights, and Cindy is doing shoebox swap.
You should have already received Carole and Norice - I know Carole is planning to shoebox swap, but she might not have told you that, as I may have convinced her to do it after she sent in her registration.
Did Norice indicate she was doing shoebox swap? I think she is planning to, let me know if I need to get that clarified. Also Norice is staying with me, I think she'll be there both nights, but she might not be able to - we won't be sure till right before.
So thats me plus 7 of "my gals" - Yay! I may have one more, she won't know till later, I've let her know she's on a "only if there's room" basis now.

I hate to do this to everyone, but there's no way I can register this week :(
Lorien, Crystal, & Heidi - I so enjoyed your company at Clara's and was really looking forward to getting to know you all better, but there's just no way I can register right now.

Well, it sounds like Debbie is going to be able to get the bigger room so there may be a few spaces available on a first come first served basis.... Maybe you will be able to register later and join us! It sure would be fun to have one of my TWISTED sisters there!
Yay...we are up to 20! That means we are definitely in the larger room and can accommodate more ladies...approx. 35! So keep inviting your friends...and those who couldn't commit yet, there is still room for you!
Some have been asking how to help and what the swap #'s are.
How to help:
-If you have prizes to donate, please let me know. So far I have heard from Nancy and Heidi, and I have some to donate myself. These will be for door prizes...the more the better!
-Does anyone have skills for printing nametags on the computer? This will need to happen the first week in February. I would like to have the plastic badges with printed inserts, and the cost of the badges can be reimbursed.
-Would you like to come up with a challenge? This involves coming up with a list of supplies (stamps, inks, cardstock, embellishments, etc.) and rules (i.e. "make a 6 X 6 scrapbook page with these supplies only" or "make a pocket card..you must use all supplies given and may add your own as well." When all participants are done the projects are placed on a table. The challenge creator (and friends if you wish) judge them and the winner receives the consumable supplies as her prize.
**If you wish to host a challenge, please give your list of consumable supplies to me by 1/15/07..I will order them out of registration fees. I am not intending to profit by doing this...cost is my (demo) cost rather than retail, and all hostess bennies, SAB sets, etc. will be prizes.**
Swap info:
-I will plan to get the swap #'s finalized approx. 10 days ahead of the event so that there is ample time to prepare.
-current #s are shoebox: 14
regular:10
These #'s will definitely go up as more ladies register!
-Please use SU stamps and CS; other ingredients may be from other vendors
I apologize for not getting back to you all on this. Unfortunately I cannot commit to this at this time. DH is working 7 days a week and sometimes 12 hours a day. I need to be home right now.

Hey Debbie,
I think last time we had everyone vote on their favorite cards from the challenges. I like that, then I know it's not just my opinion (as the host of a challenge).
I think I pm'd you my supply list awhile ago, right?
Also, I finally did get my digital camera so you can count me in for some picture taking.
How many spaces are open? 15? Will you update us with a running count as you get more registrations in?
I noticed you only have 2 challenges. Do you want me to come up with another? The one I have right now is a "Twisted Challenge" and they will be able to add their own embellishements to it. I can come up with another if you need/like.

Hey! I told her I would do a challenge but I had sent a pm asking a few questions and didn't hear back...it was over the holidays so she is probaly busy. Maybe you know Lorien....
Will everyone work on a challenge at the same time? The reason I ask is what if you want the challenge to involve say a particular punch or stamp set and only have one of those to let people use. It would take awhile for the challenge to complete. Plus people may feel rushed. So, I wondered if the challenges were just sitting out all day and people work on them at their leisure? Let me know if you know
As usual, I'm a little slow! I just found this thread! Why do I always miss this stuff? Darn it! I don't think I can come on Friday, but is there a schedule for Saturday? How about a fee? Can I still come? If so, can I bring guests?

Last time there were about 5 different challenges. Each were set up at a different table. Each table had the supplies for that challenge. Some are limited supply and you can only use what is on that table. Others you can add your own embellishements to. So bring some with you. They were kind of timed. The people split up between the 5 tables and rotated through all of the challenges. So whom ever is at the table at the same time will have to share punches, ink, stamps, etc. You can talk to your stampin friends and borrow stamp sets if you want to have more than one of the same available at a table. But I don't think you really need to. If there are 25 people split 5 ways (or however many challenges there are) you've got 5 people working at the same time. That isn't bad. I think up to 8 - 10 people would work. So we need more challenges in my opinion.

I think Friday is just an open stamp thing. All the fun is on Saturday. Challenges, shoebox swaps, door prizes. $25 fee and there are still spaces available as far as I know!
