I am sorry ladies - I came home to a huge mess at my house - darn 4 legged squatters  Good news is they are all dead - bad news is I have been bleaching the heck out of my house and I lost ALL of my food (and I had a years worth of food stored) :( So I have been preoccupied with cleaning - are there any preferences to a location and a time?

I"m so sorry you came home to that mess! I am terrified of bugs!! I moved out of my apartment for a week when one of those Palmetto bugs came in in a house plant. I didn't move back until my brother found it and killed it for me.
I don't mind where we have it. If it would be better to have it in Cullman so more can make it that's OK with me. Just let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I would almost rather it be bugs (as long as it was not cockroaches) - but it was MICE - yuk. I think they are all gone now - but I am still doing the clean up thing -lots of clothes and dishes to wash - walls, floors and everything bleached and disinfected - fun fun fun
Sorry to hear about your four legged intruders. I will come and do whatever I can to help too. I work some Saturdays (1/2 days) and the 2nd Saturday of the month have a meeting. Other than that I'm ready!!!
Pam:p

so sorry about your mess. . . so, are you home for good or are we on a time frame before you leave again? I'm sure you've got lots to do and if you want to pic a time that fits with your schedule best, I'm okay with that. Did we ever get a vote on the location?

They are my second greatest fear.LOL :( Dear God, thank you for giving us BLEACH!!
I am back to stay! But out of town now - flew to Philly to pick up the car my hubby bought me for my birthday (Mid life crisis birthdays are the best - lol) I should be back in town by Tuesday
I and a friend would be interested. We are from the Northeastern part of Bama. Not familiar with Huntsville area. Am familiar with Cullman area. Will keep checking on decision.
I'm in Hoover also and a weekend day would be much better for me as well. I like the idea of Cullman or something closer to central AL! I have a friend that would probably be interested too that lives here in Hoover also.
Okay, quick poll. . . . If I just go ahead and reserve a room in Cullman (at the museum) for June 7th (9am - 4pm) and depending on the number of people collect around $5-$10 per person (the more people the cheaper the price) and include lunch in the cost, who would be able to come?
If this doesn't work for some people and they want to do one in H'ville and/or B'ham seperately I think that would be cool also! I've just heard a few people say that the central Cullman location would work for them, so let's get to planning! I'm ready to stamp!
Okay, room is reserved. Whoever is interested please PM me with your reservation so that I can keep a proper head count. I'd like to have all reservations no later than May 30th so that I can properly plan the meal.
THey only have 10 6foot tables in the room. I would love to have a table for everyone, but at the same time it would be nice to have 20 people there. So. . . . if we have 10 or fewer everyone will have their own table, if we have more than that, we'll have to share tables (but the cost will be cheaper). But either way I don't think more than 20 people will be feasible. Hope this all makes sense, just wanted to do a little more clarifying.
Myself and a friend would be interested. Not sure where the museum is in Cullman. Is it where they have the quilt shoes and October
Fest set up around a small park? Keep us posted. Deb
So...my hubby moved all of my scrapbooking stuff and stamp stuff to these huge closets we have (about 14 ft wide and about 5 foot deep). It was actually my idea to move my work area in there - but he moved stuff in there and it is all just kind of stacked and shoved in. I was going through it today - and realized there is lots of stuff I dont use or want... I was wondering if anyone was interested in having a little swap/sale at our meet up in June... What do you think of that idea?

I don't know that I have anything to swap or sell, but I would definately buy. I am usually good about trading with my group of girls if I have things that I don't use.
Need PM Confirmation from . . . . Fran, Cathy, Deb (? + friend?). . . .
Hope this makes sense. Here are the updates/discussions.
- There are multiple SU! demos in this group so we are asking that there be no selling or catalogs provided at this event. It's the only way to keep it fair.
- We will be having a "crafter's sale" you may bring retired stamp sets or handmade items in accordance with the Angel policy and demo handbook. Please mark all items clearly. Hostesses of the event are not responsible for any sales transactions that take place at this event.
- Due to the nature of this event, there will not be any door prizes but we will have a card swap. No themes on the swap, just make whatever you would like. If you are interested . . . make enough cards (of the same design) for the number of people who are attending. At the event you will then get one of each of the other participants cards to take with you, and they will each take one of yours.
Hope this makes sense. If you have any questions, please let me know. We still have room for more! PM me if you are planning on attending and your name is not on the list above! Can't wait to meet everyone.
Debbi would like to attent also. How many cards do we make. Do we make all the cards for evereyone? If so, what will we be doing while there? Just wondering! Debbi
I am sorry but this is not the kind of event I was signing up for. The last swap we went to was 30 ladies (about half were demos) and we made 15 of the cards there and swapped with the other ladies. We had door prizes and palyed dirty stampers. To me honestly its not worth the time to drive hour and half to swap cards when 5 of the ladies going live in the same town with me.

Maybe we could do a shoebox swap or something, if that's OK with everyone else.
This will be my first swap...what exactly is a shoebox swap? I just figured we were all getting together to hang out and stamp for the day. What all do we need to bring to this?
I'm not familiar with a shoebox swap, can we get more details?
Alicia - I'm with you, I too just thought we were getting together to stamp for the day. I had in mind that we would just be stamping to catch up on cards and/or scrapbooking. I apologize if this is not what everyone else had in mind. I know that some of us who are demos seemed excited about a chance to just stamp for fun. If this is not what everyone else had in mind, I'm open to suggestions.
I just said shoebox swap because it sounded like some weren't happy that it was just a come and stamp thing. I don't mind the just hanging out and stamping. It does sound kinda nice to not have to plan something for someone else.
Is everyone supposed to bring a snack or anything like that?
I was planning on taking care of lunch and splitting the cost for everyone. Or we could do a covered dish lunch, or we could all being drinks and snacks and go out for lunch. Just let me know what everyone is interested in doing. I don't mind either way.
I would not be interested in just swapping cards for six hours. Is this a Stamping Up meet of a mixes meet? It is over 100 miles for me. If there are other acitivities that would be more appealing. Swapping cards, others making card like the ones swapped, door prizes, etc. This will be my first one. Have heard these are fun. Debbi
Well no one mentioned stamping for the day. and Since this thread started off the Woodstock Shoebox swap, I thought it would be like that. Sorry for the trouble.

I dont think it was ever specified exactly what everyone was interested in. As for me - i am game for anything. Sarah - with the people no longer interested - what do the numbers look like? If it will only be a handful of people - we can get together at my house. I am also game for doing a shoebox swap - whatever you want to do is fine by me. I am game for just hanging out and stamping or swapping - whichever. My pool will be open by then- so if you want to do it here - that will give us something to do in addition to stamping...

Isn't Kudzu the only one that isn't game? I don't mind a shoebox swap or just hanging out and stamping. Just let me know what I need to bring and when to be there.
And thanks Sarah and LDSD for organizing all of this.
