You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
I enjoyed seeing all the photos posted of other SCS get togethers, so I thought why not here? If I plan it - would you come? I'm in Livermore, so anyone over the hill (Tracy, Modesto, Stockton, Sacramento) wouldn't have to drive too far. Please send me a pm for a show of interest. I'm thinking possible August date. Oooh, we'd have the new catalog to provide lots of things to chat about, some make 'n takes - suggestions welcome. I've contacted Jami in So. California and she is sharing her knowledge of doing this for three years, so I'm hoping that will make this fun.
Look forward to hearing from you.
thanks,
~ Kathy p.s. please go to the thread linked in my signature line (it's in the Get it Together Forum). Post a comment to that thread if you want to have auto emails to keep you updated on the event details.

Hi Lezlye - Um, the So Cal event was a few weeks ago. I saw the photos posted in the gallery and that's what go me interested. Where are you located? (You can pm me for privacy)
For all No Cal Gals - I would much appreciate your input:
There is a brand new community center just down the street from me here in Livermore. I would like to rent a room for the event and there is a choice of room sizes, but the cost would have to be divided by the number attendees. For example, a room that would hold about 45 people would be $200. If we had 40 participants that would be $5/person, with fewer people the cost goes up. A smaller room might be possible, too. We could include the cost of a lunch (sandwich or salad) from a deli, maybe another $7? Does this sound reasonable to you? Please be honest with me, I appreciate all opinions.
I have looked at threads of other get togethers and they include shoe box projects, garage sales of unwanted stamps/supplies, make n' takes, games, contests, door prizes (supplied by the participants or included in the cost of attending). What sort of things or activities would you be interested in? I'm open to all suggestions and any experience you can share.
Oh, one more thing, weekend day only or would a Friday be okay for you?
thanks,
~ Kathy

Hi Kathy... this sounds like a great idea.... I was trying to access your link: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
but it says it can't be found???
Keep us posted. I'm in Concord and a weekend day would be better. my little bit of vacation days are tied to when my son has to take days off from school that I don't have as holidays.
Stampin4sandra - Thanks for letting me know, that is weird. The thread is in the Get It Together Forum (it's near the bottom of the Forum list). I just went to that thread and the address looks the same as in my sig line. I get the same thing you do when I click on the link in my sig line though. I'll try redoing it to see if I can fix it. Try again or try going directly to that link.
I've only had this up for 2 days and already I'm getting a very good show of interest. Haven't counted them all up yet. Including friends I have in my stamp group, I would say at least 15 so far. It takes awhile to get the word out, that's why I am advertising it in my sig line. Jami, who was one of the organizers of the So Cal SCS get together (for 3 years) has given me some very helpful info on what she has learned over the years. So, I'm hoping we can use that to organize the one here fairly well. I've already heard from a few others that weekend day is better, so will definitely do that.
thanks,
~ Kathy

I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping someone is planning (or thinking about planning) something like this soon. My girlfriend and I are very interested in getting together and having fun!
I planned this get together when I was unemployed it was great, but then I got a full time job and never did another one. If you are interested in putting one together, I would be happy to help you. I learned some things that I would do a bit differently. I think there were about 30 participants and still have the list of people. We could see if any of them are interested and you can start a post for new people. I attended the Southern Cal get together the year after that and it was huge, over 100 people at that time. Do they still have their annual event?
I sort of lost my card making mojo about two years ago, but I just bought a Pazzles last weekend, so I think that will get me re-invigorated.
Kathy
