Hi Pam, I was wondering if you got an email from Debbie Taulbee saying that she won't be able to make it. Also, I was wondering what the breakfast and lunch will be? Pam
..... the list of items for Saturday states "you may want to bring your own snail adhesive" ...
I would suggest that it is a requirement to bring your own adhesive, bone folder, and scissors. You keep them with you to make your personal projects throughout the day. That's what I've come to expect at shoebox swaps. People have different preferences and use adhesive at different rates. I have not planned to provide general adhesive for people to make my project. I do provide things like redline tape or crystal effects if my project requires it.
Hello- I have never been to a swap before and I dont really know what it is but I would love to go. Do we make things there or just swap cards (I dont have any...I just started stamping a week ago!)
Also, I live 5 min from BWI...I noticed quite a few people do and was wondering if we could do a car pool if someone has an suv or van and we can all chip in $5 for gas/tolls.

Thoughts??
Yes, this is the way I've always done it as well. I always bring my own adhesive, bone folder, and scissors as well as other items that I pack in my bag. I also bring baby wipes for cleaning stamps and also bring a couple of styrofoam plates to lay the baby wipes on to make cleaning the stamps easier. I provide whatever items are needed to make my project other than the adhesive, etc. For all the shoebox swaps I've been to so far everyone else has done this as well (at least the people sitting at my table)

Thanks a bunch,

Hi Amanda,
A shoebox swap is where you get together with a certain number of people, in this case 20. Each person designs a card and makes one as a sample, writes (or types) out the directions needed to recreate that card, and then supplies all the necessary materials to make that card for however many people are attending. So you would make your card, then whatever ink, stamps, cardstock (cut into proper sizes), and embellishments you used you would make up 19 (20 minus 1 which is you) baggies of material so that each person would have everything they need to make that card. Most people use ziploc baggies (sandwich size) to put each persons material in. Then you would put your baggies, inkpads, stamps and any other piece of equipment needed along with your sample and the directions into a shoebox (or equivalent). Then when you arrive at the event your box is given a number and goes on a separate table with everyone else's box and then each person goes up, takes a box and brings it back to their table, makes the card and then returns the box and gets another one until you've made all the cards. It's a lot of fun and you come home with all different cards to glean ideas from. And you meet a lot of wonderful people in the process!
You would need to contact Pam (see post #1) to see if there are any spots left, it's possible that she has all the spots filled now. If that is the case there will be other swaps going on within the next few months that you could sign up for, just keep watching the "Get It Together" Forum for other swaps in the Baltimore/Maryland area.
I am also near BWI so you are always welcome to ride with me to any of the swaps that we would be signed up for together. Where do you live? I'm in Ferndale.
Wow...now I know why people need to know in advance...that a lot of materials to get together! Well I dont know if I can do this one but they sound wonderful!
I am hosting a lil get together at my house Sep 1st f(11am-3ish) or folks near the BWI area...I will have snacks and such...but folks can brings their own materials, and we are just going to create new idea's or play catch up on scrapbooking if we are behind. It is just for fun and to meet new people.
I live about 5 min. west of BWI off of 195...I have a lot of space at my house so I ask that everyone bring whatever supplies they want.
If you would like to come please email me back at StampinUpGurl@yahoo
Pam, thanks for hosting a great shoebox swap. What great cards we made! It was a fun-filled day of stamping. Thanks for the great breakfast and lunch too.
Fun day!
Fun cards!
Lots of great ideas and different folds!
Thanks to everyone who was brave enough to come even in the face of unexpectedly closed roads! Goodness!
That was my prayer time for the day for little ole' cell-phone-less me!
Love having a "catered" lunch!
Everything was perfect, Pam!
Thanks!

I have to chime in here as well to say thanks Pam for a wonderful shoebox swap in a great setting! Everyone had such great cards and new ideas, it was a lot of fun!
If anyone is missing a bottle of Stampin' Up Mist there was one in my shoebox and it's not mine. So let me know and send me your address and I'll be happy to send it to you, or if you're going to the Reisterstown Swap in Sept. I can bring it then if you'd rather I not put it in the mail since it is a liquid.
Thanks again everyone for a super day of stamping! (even if we did get lost!)
Thanks Pam for putting this swap together. We had a great time even though most of us got lost getting there.
Ladies please check your stamps before you put them away. Some of mine were still dirty. Hope to see some of you at the Reistertown swap. Pam P.
this is my first back online since early last week. THANK YOu to everyone for attending Saturday. I was little nervous not knowing how it would turn out and not knowing most of you. i enjoyed myself and the ideas were great.
I sat down and went through the swaps we made and was wowed!
Hope everyone made it home and all bridges (smile) were open. My apologies again for the arriving detour.
Have a great week and I am looking forward to attending a shoebox in your area!
Pam, Thank you so much for having the shoebox swap. The cards were adorable and lots of cute ideas. The lunch and breakfast was just right and it seemed all you did was work. Next time have all of us bring something so you can enjoy sitting down and stamping too. Thanks again. Donna Hilse

Thank you Pam for putting this together for us. Hope we can do it again some time.
I enjoyed talking with some of you and sorry I did not get to talk to everyone. But maybe in the future.
Could everyone check I am missing my ticket punch. Could you please PM me if you have it. I will pay to have you ship it back to me.
Thanks again!
Joszette

Joszette
Joszette, please keep the scotch tape, it's no biggie! I still haven't heard from anyone about the bottle of Stampin Mist that was in my box and does not belong to me.
