I know we've been discussing on Forums at Splitcoaststampers about having a swap in Macon for those in Central/Southern Georgia, Alabama and Florida. I am just trying to get an idea of those that are interested so we can start planning this. The more the merrier. We're looking at a shoebox swap, yardsale, and a general all-out party. Anyone interested?
Nope, you are just fine they way you are...just trying to make it less confusing a bit. I will go ahead and post a list here as well for those that have signed up.
I can do Macon, so long as it's on a Saturday. Would drive up after work on Friday. Whooo, hoooooo, Rachel's coming, too! I get to meet her in Savannah this weekend.

Hey, girl, it was AWESOME meeting you and your hubby! So sorry I didn't thank you properly for the lovely lunch at Lady and Sons! :o
I wish I'd remembered to get out my camera and get a pic together -- guess I'll have to wait till the get-together this spring. Hey, maybe we can room together if we need to spend the night! Saturday would be the best for me, too (in April since that's usually the month of spring quarter when it's easiest to get away for a day or two), since we don't have classes on Fridays and I can use that day for driving.

I have a recruit in Adel, GA. I'm not sure where that is in the state as opposed to Macon, but if it's fairly close by, I'll pass the info on to her. Does anyone know if this will be close to her?

I just found this thread. I would be interested in coming too! It doesn't really matter to me what month, so I didn't vote. Just add me to the list of interested people -- I might be able to convince my upline to come also!
I've not been paying attention to this thread other than to see that it is still going. I thought it was just Sarah bumping it to troll for more takers.
Rachel, hey, girl! I don't know if you'd want to bunk with Russel and me! LOL As I'm sure you noticed by now, when he's not on the road, we're joined at the hip!
Dee, yes, The Lady and Sons was everything Rachel said it would be, awesome. Best fried chicken I have ever had and that is saying something! Well worth the trip to Savannah!
Dena! Hey, girl! Looking forward to seeing you again in Macon in the spring! Maybe we can get Robin to come, too.
I might be able to make the North one and this one too. Macon is only about 1 1/2-2 hours away but given that I-75 is always under some sort of construction who knows how long it will take.
Same thing for going North on I-85 to the other one you run into constant road construction on the weekend.
It is just a way of life for us. LOL

Oh Granny, ins't it the truth. We moved here in 1979 and they were working on I-75 then. Here it is almost 2006 and guess what?? Yep, they are still working on I75. I think DOT has made a career for those road crew men and women.
I am currently living in central Florida but we are wanting to move to GA. I may be able to go but it all depends on the weekend that it is planned. DH and I are going to Washington GA tomorrow to look at real estate. Anyone live near there? I would love to get to know some of you GA gals so that I have connections for when (if?) we move!
Jodi
I am new to SU and would like to get to know other demonstrators in the Georgia area. Thought this would be a good place to start. Would very much like to get in on the get together. Please sign me up.
Think you got my name wrong on the list? unless there's actually a debgrffn, which I didn't actually check to see . . .
And I'm kind of a maybe depending on when it is and life and if I can find someone to drag along for the drive!
OMG- I just found this list! I hate the fact that I was supposed to move to Georgia Dec. 27, but that move was post poned until June now! WOW ! Im going to miss out! Sorry to hijak but I hope everyone has a great time!

Hey, Kathy! Must have missed this thread somehow when I was at my parents' house for the holidays. Sure, I'll go with ya!
I also noticed that we're looking at April now. Weren't we talking February before, or am I just imagining things? Whether I can go or not depends on what week of the spring quarter the date falls during. That's my last quarter of grad school, and so I'll be working feverishly on my final project!

Rachel's right, we are probably going to have this in April. I'm going to check around with a couple places tomorrow to see what is available and how much it would cost (hopefully nothing). Is there any weekend that you definitely CAN NOT make it?
When did it become April? Could we make up my mind? I have no weekends in April that won't work. So, Sarah, put me down as okay for April, but geeze, April?

Won't know that for sure till I get next quarter's syllabus when spring classes start at the end of March. Since that's cutting it way too close to still have things up in the air, you should probably just go ahead and plan the get-together and I'll see if I can work around it.
Based on my previous experiences, though, the first few weeks of a quarter tend to be the easiest as far as workload, so the weekend of the 31st to the 2nd, or the 7th to the 9th would probably be the best for me. The earlier the better! Classes don't meet on Fridays, so I could even travel on Thursday. Once we get closer to the middle of the month I doubt I'd be able to get away for an entire weekend.
