By the way, my friend has never made a card, so this will be something new for her. I would love to get her involved in card making and I think this will be the perfect time to do so.
Joan
Joan this is awesome. Happy to hear that you and your friend will make it. I was just doing a quick check here before bed and really need to sleep so will post an explanation of the swaps in this thread tomorrow. The registration information is in post #1 of this thread along with my address.

I think we can help you get your friend hooked.

You design and make one card. In the shoebox you will put all supplies needed to make said card...paper cut to size, ribbons, embellishments, stamps and ink. Everyone will have their own adhesive. We will let you know as soon as registration closes how many you will need to plan for. We are thinking about 15 give or take a few in each group.
You should also include an instruction card. Everyone then rotates around the tables making all the cards. If 15 people sign up for this then you should have 15 beautiful cards to take home. We all make mistakes occasionally so a couple extra pieces of paper would be nice.
REGULAR SWAP
You will make these cards at home to swap at the event. Again, we will post the number participating when registration closes. If we have 30 people, you will need to make 30 of the same card. These will be full cards, not just card fronts as some do, and they do not need to be exclusively SU.
CHALLENGES
Three gals from our local group will each issue a challenge on Friday night. We will post supplies you should try to bring with you. They will be common card making supplies. We'll work the evening on them, have a judging and award some prizes.
You do not have to participate in the swaps. If you do, you will go home with many new cards and a wealth of great ideas to develop your own new designs. If you chose not to do the swaps, you are welcome to bring your own project to work on.
If anyone has something to add that I may have forgotten on these swaps, please feel free to post or pm me and I'll add to this thread.

JoAnn,
My check and reservation form for Jackie and I are in the mail!
I can't wait to meet everyone. This will be so much fun.
Joan
Hi Joan: So glad to see you registered and you really have my curiosity up. If your friend is only 30 miles away -- there's a good chance in this neck of the woods that some of us might know her -- she's considered a neighbor around these parts at only 30 miles away -- was that right - 30 miles? What town is she from?
Oh, I'm so glad to see some familiar names that we met in Sayner signing up!!! Can't wait!!!!
Oh, you will all like the Lakeside (Best Western) for the event. It is 7 miles from my house and we go there all the time to eat. The dining room has big windows and faces the water (Keweenaw Bay of Lake Superior). I HOPE we get to eat lunch in the dining room - that would be so nice!!!!
Hi all...I haven't been able to spend much time around here lately, but I read about this get together on Sharon's blog, plus she sent me an email today saying she hoped I would be able to come. I had the pleasure of having lunch with her once last year and can't wait to see her again, as well as meet some new yooper stamping friends!
I have never been to any kind of stamping event like this before, but since it's so close, and I'm on vacation from work that week anyway, I can't pass up the chance. I will send my registration in on Friday after I get paid, I hope it's not filling up too fast so that won't be too late??? I'd hate to get "shut out" now that I'm all excited about it! LOL
I have stayed at the Lakeside before and it really is a beautiful place. I'm so excited!! I'm coming from Escanaba, so it won't be too long of a drive for me.
I would like to do that shoebox swap and also the card swap - even though I'm a bit nervous about them just because I've never done them before. But i'm an SU demo and do alot of workshops and have been stamping for years so I think I'll do fine. I better get working on my swap cards now though, since I'm such a procrastinator!! ;-)
Please let me know if I can be of help in any way with getting things ready or whatever. I could make something for a prize giveaway or something like that too. Just let me know.
Amy, I'm so excited that you read Sharon's blog and found us. Not to worry, there's still plenty of room. If you would like to do something for a prize let Deb know. The information is in post #1 with the registration. Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi Amy-- glad you're coming! Sharon has spoken of meeting you!
If you or anyone would like to donate prizes, please pm me, or mail them my way. Like Joann said, the info is in the first entry of this thread...Thanks!
Thanks, Jaclyn! Now that we've *spoken* more I keep looking for you in the *crowds* around the Copper Country! Funny how that is! We should get together before this wonderful event!
I've made the reservation for a room at the Lakeside Inn. He didn't seem to know what the Up Stampers were. Lisa and I are looking forward to it. Lisa said she sent her reservation in - did you get it yet??

Forgot to tell you - count me in for the swap and the shoebox swap. I've never done either one - but I guess its time I learned!! I'm really looking forward to this!

I just found this thread. I really wish I could come. Unfortunately money has become very tight. I'm a hobby demo and will probably be giving that up soon. But if wasn't for the money problem, I would come. Maybe next year?
Where in TC does your mother live? We are on the west side, walking distance to West Sr. High. (though DD will ride the bus next year. OMG! my baby starts high school next year! the full scope of that just hit me!)

Hi Sharon,
Jackie's address is Chassell. They live on the lake but not year around.
They are just there in the summer time, and not all the time as they come back to Indiana about every 3 weeks.
Is that near you?
I am so excited to meet you all and I can't wait to take your class.
Hi everyone! We're going to keep the registration open until June 15th, as we haven't had the response that we were hoping for. I'm hopin more local stampers will attend-- we should have those swap numbers by June 16.
