Reason: adding names
Garnet, it's a wonderful idea! I live just across the border from Sumas and used to go into Lynden frequently to mail swaps and check out 'Timekeepers' craft shop!! If Martha's coming, so am I!!
PS What's the address for the church?

Oh, I wish I could come but already have plans for that day (hubby's birthday party). If any of you ever want to get together in Lynden, I own the Dunny's Cafe and would love to have some of you drop in to introduce yourselves or come in for coffee and a chat. Hopefully you will have so much fun at this first gathering, you will decide to do it again when I can come !
Laurel Community Baptist Church: 162 W. Laurel Road.
Guide Meridian is the highway/road that runs north to south between Bellingham and Lynden. The church is just about a half mile west off of Meridian.
Folks from Ferndale and Blaine would take Axton Road to Meridian and turn left (north). From Sumas/Everson take Pole Road to Meridian and turn left (south).
If you use the bus, it is number 26 that goes between Bellingham and Lynden.

Yippee! This will be fun! I hope to meet many SCS from the area. I have VERY few friends that stamp and most of the others think I'm just nuts to put so much time, ($) , etc into a "craft"
I'll be able to give a more definite response when the date gets closer but hopefully I'll be there. Of course, my schedule revolves around my children's schedules  and as of this time I don't know their fall sports schedule yet. But I'll mark that date down. Even if there's a soccer game I should be able to be there for at least part of the time.

Martha let me know about this SCS Party. Count me in. Don't order a sandwhich for me (food allergy). Anything, a swap or shoe box swap is fine. I will go along with the majority.
Thanks for organizing this.

October 14 is on my calendar and I will confirm two weeks in advance. Thank you for putting this event together. I vote for the shoebox idea.

Hi Martha
We'll have to organise a trip across the border and get together. I'm off to the UK next Monday with DH to visit with our kids so although I'll check my email I won't be on here much for almost 3 weeks!! It's not always convenient to stamp with all the gals I know as they have small kids! At least yours are past the pre school stage!
Garnet, I'll be able to confirm absolutely once I know what date my son and fiancee are coming to stay. I should find out when I'm in the UK and will let you know for certain in early September. Sounds like there could be a good deal of interest which is great.

Ruth,
That would be just terrific-I'd love to get together!
I hope your visit to the UK goes well and that you have some quality time with your family! Congratualtions on your future daugher btw!
I think this sounds like so much fun. Count on me. I live in Lynden and know right where the church is. I think a Christmas swap might be fun. I hope I can learn a new technique.

Hi Mary Ellen! So glad you responded right away! But , you only have 3 posts on SCS? For shame. You are the one who told me how great this place is.
Okay! Back to the business at hand.... happy that you can come to the party!!
Come on you, Canadian girls, in Abbotsford, Langley, Aldergrove, Surrey we're not far from the border!! Be a great 'excuse' to meet some of our counterparts south of the border and good fun too! We've swapped with enough of them over the year!
Quick question. Can they be anyone who enjoys stampin? Or do they need to be a demonstrator? I have a friend who would love to come.

Lynden
Man, I hope not- because I'm not a demo. Anyone who lives in the area or wants to drive up/down/over to join us is more than welcome!!
Just let Garnet know so she can put their name on the list.
Just got back from the Lynden Fair tonight to see Mercy Me with my dh and his brother and wife- Wow! What an experience! My dd is staying the week with another BIL and their family to help with the animals that the kids are showing- if you see a Heffer in the FFA barn that is about to give birth- she's family ;) The pig with the blue ribbon and the beautiful eyes belongs to my goddaughter Megan
Have a great night ladies!
Hope more of you can join us for our Whatcom County get together!!!

Bev Garnet's not a demo either so I don't think she'll turn anyone away! Those of us that are demos are just coming to meet up and stamp, talk and have fun doing something we really enjoy with other people of a like mind! Well that's why I'm coming.
It is almost 500 miles from Eugene, Oregon to Bellingham WA. Whatcom County is a beautiful place to visit if you would like a vacation. (take a look at the photo in my profile)
If you do not have time for driving that distance, there is another SCS "party" being planned by Shanon and friends. I think they are meeting in Portland. Just click on the "Get It Together" link at the top of this thread and then look for "Anyone in Oregon/Washington...."
I'm interested, but I'm a maybe. I have a couple of workshops I'm trying to get booked around then... sounds like fun! (and I'm in Everett, maybe me and Kysmom could carpool... :-) )
Shoreline/Everett is not so far. Maybe 2 hours driving. Hope you can make it.
