I'm 72% Texan. The other 28% must be the San Diegan in me.
Beverly, I'll be there July 22 through August 4. I'm still leaning towards going to Session 1 of Convention. I guess I'll have to decide by tomorrow when registration opens.

San Diego 'infiltration' of the Texas in you? ***gasp***
I promise not to tell. ;)
Thanks for the dates, Lisa! I'm writing them down this time!
And yes, I'm also aiming for Session 1 of Convention. SO excited!! :-D
How sad! It says I'm 52%, yet I've been here my whole life - save 6 months in California! And one of those answers I gave (for festivals) actually pertained to my time in CA! Mmm... Garlic Festival and Strawberry Festival!! Yum!!
I think one big problem for me with that is I'm from a CITY. And a BIG CITY! LOL We're not quite as "country" here as some parts of the state!

Saying "San Diegan" was not too difficult, but I couldn't bring myself to say "Californian" If I had to pick any place outside of Texas to live, it would be here in San Diego. You should see my house though, it's like being transported back to Texas as soon as you walk in the door!
I'm excited to go to Denver too! I"m waking up early to register!! We'll have to chat about flights. I'm waiting until after I get registered to figure that out. I already have reservations at the Curtis, but no flights yet. Too difficult to change those.

That was fun!! I'm 76% texan. Grew up mostly in southern states and mostly rural, but got to Texas as fast as I could. My ma is a Texan born and raised so that helps. Now I've got to go fix my draaaaawwlllll. lol
I'm a Texan...born and raised...born in Killeen, Tx to an Army family..yes an army brat i am, raised in Copperas Cove TX...moved only because i married a navy man..also a born and raised TX..
Once a Texan always a Texan!!
Howdy ya'll!! I grew up in Monahans, moved a bit but always ended up "home". Married my best friend I went to school with since 1st grade. After our oldest graduated HS, we moved to Fort Stockton. Been here 4 LONG years. BUT I rather be here than another state... TEXAN to the core! If anyone is even sorta close I would love the contact!
Hi, I mainly scrapbook but I stamp cards some too. My sister, silentrn, got me on this forum as she is a regular here. She used to be from Texas but just moved to Arizona. I live in Whitehouse, outside Tyler, between Dallas and Shreveport. So I thought I would check it out. I have been married 26 years to a great guy, have an 18 y/o Eagle Scout son who just graduated and a 15 year old life scout.
I was born and raised in San Angelo. Lived in Dallas area shortly, went to tech. school in Waco. Lived in Katy, Houston and Hockley. Now I live in Waller, a small town near Houston. Between Tomball and Katy.
Never lived anywhere but TEXAS
Hi to all you Texas gals! I wish I would have found this thread months ago. I'm in Fair Oaks Ranch, just north of San Antonio. But we are moving to The Netherlands August 1st. We'll be back eventually so I'll have to remember to run a search when I return.
Have a great day!

Because we place being a Texan as high as being an American down here. (it is the only state that was a republic before it became a state, that is the reason I was taught).
Our capitol is the only one in the country that is taller than the capitol building and the San Jacinto Monument is also taller than the Washington Monument over there in Washington, D.C. and we can divide our state into five states if we want to! We included these things as part of the deal when we came on.
That's the best part right there.
If you are a REAL TEXAN you won't need to be told to pass this on.
[/INDENT]
Amen! As I was reading this I thought how beautifully you put it. People would really be amazed at the number of celeberties that have come out of TEXAS. We can't forget : Tex Ritter and Debbie Reynolds just to name 2 more.
O.K. It's been awhile since I have visited this thread. If all of you in the Golden Triangle and surrounding area, this includes those from Baytown & Crosby also and Jasper area will pm me maybe we can start having stamping time together.

Born and raised in Southern California...just moved to Texas October 2006...I'm here outside Dallas in Rockwall. LOVE IT! It was the best move for my DH, 4 kids and I!!! If you asked me a little over a year ago if I'd be anywhere but California, I'd have said "You're CRAZY!" God's plans are always best and I now find myself proud to be a TEXAN!!!
Your in great company, there's alot of great girls up around there.

I am from Texas! I was born in Laredo but I grew up in San Antonio and then went to college in Austin. I currently live in North Dakota and I must say...I miss that South Texas heat. It's too cold here! So I go home to visit my family and friends back home every 3 months.
Hi everyone! My name is Christi and I just joined SCS and also stamping in general. I was born in Arlington and grew up in Grand Prairie (between Dallas & Ft. Worth). My husband was born and raised in Arlington as well and now we're living in Grand Prairie with our two little boys (2 and 11 mos). I've moved to Hillsboro/Waco, Weatherford, and now I'm back home again. I can't imagine ever leaving Texas.
Nice to meet everyone and am so glad I found this thread. If anyone is interested in 'teaching a newbie' stamper let me know...I need help! LOL
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I just learned of this website from a Stampin' Up demonstrator.
I live in the Harker Heights area---that's a mosquito hair away from Killeen, Texas...home of Fort Hood.
I just got started stamping. I have been a counted cross stitch fan for many years. I completed a scrapbook about a dog that I owned for many, many years. He died suddenly; so I decided to try my hand at creating a scrapbook about his life. It turned out okay for a first timer.
Got to thank DYU for telling me about this link.
Are there any stampers or cross stitchers in my area?
I just moved to Copperas Cove, and have cross stitch supplies I'm no longer using - you can have'em if you want'em. I stamp some too.
And as much I as like it here in Texas, I am a northerner at heart, born and raised in the loveable Yankee stronghold of Vermont. But please don't hold it against me ;)
100% TEXAN !!!!!!!!!! Born in Dallas and raised from Dallas to El Paso to Brazoria and many places in between. Currently a SU Demo living in Bay City with husband and 3 kids, been here for the last 11 years with a couple of moves out of town and back to town. Anyone else near the coast?
Howdy ya'll,
I'm a born & bred Texan from Fort Worth, lived in Dallas and now up in the boonies of Grayson County, not even Sherman or Denison! and I LOVE it in the country. I can't go no further north though, you know what they say (use to say?) about Oklahoma.
Is there anyone else here from the Grayson/Fannin area? I sure would like to find some stamping buds.
I'm from the Gulf Coast too! I was in Bay City on Thursday. I live in Lake Jackson - about an hour south of Houston. My parents live in Old Ocean - 20 minutes? from Bay City.
