I'm just so happy to see all the stampers from the great state of WISCONSIN. I was born in Madison and have always lived within 20 miles. Except right now, I am in Florida until April. (that must mean I am very old, I guess) I love attending classes about stamping or scrapbooking.
An update--I emailed them to see when the last day would be at the store. The reply I got from Scott is that they are not sure they are closing the store. They did lose the lease at this location, but are looking for another place to open another one. This location will be open through the end of February, so stop in to see them and save some money AND encourage them to find another place to open.
Thanks Barb. I guess I will have to go visit and see how much inventory they have left after their first week of sales. I've been kind of holding off. Afraid of what I might do.
Good Morning and Happy Easter Wisconsin Ladies�I thought I would post something about CHA�Craft and Hobby Association�show in Chicago in July. Some of you might be interested in going and I know some of us have talked about it and are starting to make plans.

The "trade show" is Tues-Thurs, July 27-29--that is dealer/company access only, public can't get in. The public "show" which is what we would want is basically a super huge scrapbooking/stamping/crafting expo is Friday/Saturday, July 30/31. I have heard the cost is about $20 for both days. They also have offered classes in the past, but no specific deals are on the website yet.
I would love to get together with other SCS at CHA if others are going down�supper one night, morning meet up, beverages on night, etc.
I am planning to make a mini-vacation out of it, staying three nights. I am heading down Thursday morning with Laura Jean, a SCS from Madison. We plan to stop at Ikea and Woodfield Mall. The hotel we are at, Aloft--is at pretty good price--$99 for Thursday and then $49 for Friday. It is then $99 again on Saturday. The hotel is connected or right by the convention center, so we can park at the hotel and then walk. No parking fees--I know there are some cheaper hotels in the area, but I am not sure what parking costs at the CC.

This is the best if anyone is coming in on Thursday for two nights. They also have a AAA rate of $79.20 if anyone has that card and that would apply to all days. What I did was make a reservation for two nights with the special and a second reservation with the AAA rate. Looks like a great hotel--very, very modern!
So, anyone else planning to go? I know that Laura Jean went to CHA in Anaheim in January and said it was great. I have not attended, but am so looking forward to it. I would like to check out some of the classes when that schedule is set.
Please post if you are planning to go and what days you are going to be there. We can then try to set up a time and place to meet for a "Curd" get-together!

I finallly found the date for the June Stamping Expo here in Wausau for those of you interested.
It is JUNE 26th!
This year it is going to be held at Cedar Creek Center right off the highway.
I will post again when tickets go on sale if anyone would them. Also the first couple hundred sold gets a nice goodie bag so i always buy my ticket right away and also its cheaper than a the door.

I live in Edgerton. I haven't had a chance to read through to see if anyone is in the area. I'm between Madison and Janesville, right off the interstate.
Welcome Jennie! I'm from Hartford but three of us here do quite a bit of stamping and meeting up with ladies from your area. You might want to take a look at the Get Togethers thread, search for CURDS - that'll tell you what a bunch of us are up to. Several of us from Wisconsin were in Friendship today for a Shoebox. The next one that a lot of us will be at is still open for registration - Jackson, WI on June 26th.
Hello fellow Wisconsinites! I just found this thread... was just wondering how many SCS members were from the Wisconsin area... I'm living in Birchwood, Wisconsin with dh & ds now and moved here about 5 years ago from Racine county Wisconsin. Looking for some others who share the stamping/ crafting/ card making/ scrapping bug... I'd love to share in some of the fun events...

Hi Waupun and Fond du Lac - My parents moved from Fox Lake to Fond du Lac so I'm in your areas a lot! Let me know if you do any Shoebox Swaps or Get Togethers! You should check out our 2nd Annual Hartford Shoebox thread - we have a GREAT time at them!
But I tell people Fond du Lac, cause nobody's ever heard of Brandon! No, that's not true! I actually start with FDL and then go to Ripon & Waupun, and then I say I'm right in the middle!!! BUT, if they haven't heard of FDL, then I say Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay make a triangle- put a dot in the middle, and that's where I am!
Let me know when you're in town- FDL, Waupun, Fox Lake, Ripon- we do need to get together! I hold a card making party for Ronald McDonald House a few times a year! I'll let everyone know the next time I have one! All the cards made go to RMDH!!!! I provide all the supplies and some good food and drink!:cool:

Appleton Area Stampers interested in an SU Stamp Club?
Disclaimer: I am not a demo. I'm a stamper trying to get a club going.
We are trying to get enough people to have an SU stamp club. We need 3-4 more people. It would meet once a month for 6 months. You agree to order $25.00 worth of merchandise each month ($30.00 if we only get 5 people) and once during that time, you would be the hostess for the club and get the hostess benefits for having a $150.00 show. We would make 3 cards/projects each time we meet.
I'm here in Wisconsin, Kenosha to be exact. Born and raised, my hubby is from Racine and moved down to Kenosha after we got married. Had a couple of short stints in Las Vegas as a kid then a couple of years in Texas for school. But I have always found my way back to Kenosha.

Hi Scrapiegirl, I'm orignalinly from Racine and now live in Friendship , Wi My daughter and her family live in Kenosha, also have a sister there. In fact, just came back from there after being there for 5 days. Had a nice time but neither of them do stamping Ever go to any of the swaps? There is one coming up in Hartford Wi on the 14th. They are such fun, meet really nice people, get some good ideas, have good food and just have a really good time. Diane D.
Hi Diane D. I go to some crops but not that often, I have a 18 month old and a nice huge room with all my supplies out, so packing gets to be a chore for me, unless it's for a couple of days I don't normally go to more then two a year. I did see the swap in Hartford and was interested in going to that one, but my Grandpa is have a surprise 80th birthday party that day, maybe next year, it did sound like fun!

Little late on reply. CHA was great. Saw a lot, learned a lot and took home a lot of freebies. If it is held in Chicago again next year or someplace equally close, I AM GOING.
