I saw in the Michaels add this week that they had Iris brand 4x6 photo storage containers on sale for $1. I am wondering if this will work for clear stamp or unmounted stamp storage. They look like they are similar to the SU unmounted storage cases, maybe a little smaller. Any ideas? They were sold out when I went there today, but I got a raincheck.
I picked up some of them the other day. I haven't seen the SU storage cases. I haven't ventured down the unmounted road yet. Are you looking for dimensions on the case or just someone's opinion?
I don't see why these wouldn't work, what a great idea! I just measured one of my SU unmounted cases and they measure 5 1/8" wide, 7 1/3" high and 1/2" deep. So the Iris cases would be a smaller size, but much deeper (dimensions for Iris 4 x 6 cases I found online: 1 1/4"H x 6 3/4"W x 4 3/4"D). Might have to go over to Michaels this evening...

Thank you for the dimensions. I suppose you could store some stamps on each side of the case and them some on a sheet in the middle. Any idea what type of sheet would be best to store stamps on? Preferably some type of sheet that I don't have to get on line.
I have these, I bought the ones that come with 12 in a bigger carrier. They actually fit, quite nicely, mounted stamps. I use them to hold the stamps that I don't feel like unmounting.
They are nice and sturdy, and the latch seems to hold well. If you were looking to store unmounted or clear stamps, you should be able to put them on the bottom and on the inside of the cover.

Hi! Is it possible for someone to post a pic. of the Iris case that you are using for stamp storage? I currently have some larger sets in the SU cases and the smaller sets I have in the CTMH envelopes. Both work great but are costly! If anyone can post a pic I know I would appreciate it as I'm sure others would too! Off today and I think a trip to Michaels might be in the plan.
I have another question too! Actually 2!!! I have unmounted about 50 SU sets using the A.T.I.O.O. and it worked well for me. Time consuming but what can you do!! Well in the past 2 weeks I have read a-lot on here about tack n peel. Well let me just say I give it 2 thumbs up!!!! I read somewhere in a post that people were using poster tape I think to hold the stamps in place. (meaning the stamps that are down to the bare rubber.) Can someone please clarify that for me. I want to use something that is not to costly to house the other tons of stamps that I have to unmount yet! At least 100 SU sets.

Thanks so much 7 have a great day!!
I use poster tape. I put a couple of strips on the acrylic block to hold the bare rubber. You can stamp many, many, many times with the block before you need to replace the tape. If you have a stamp with cling backing, just use the other side of the acrylic block.
Maria, thanks so much for the link! I thought that it was these, but wasn't 100% sure! For once this is something I actually have!! My pic's were suppose to go in there, but haven't made it yet!!!! I guess I will use these to store my stamps that I have unmounted down to the bare rubber. I think I will use Joys tip and use the poster tape to hold them in place in the case!
I was at my JoAnns today and they have these at 40% off, regular price is $2.49 so at 40% off, I think I will have to go and get some more!
Thanks to all of you for your help! This site is the BEST and you can always count on someone to chime in!
My Michaels is not so close, so I called them and I'm glad I did because they were out!! While I was out today I went to Joanns and all their scrapbook storage is 40% off!!
I use these (in the 12-per box style) for storing my wooden stamps. They're just the right depth, and it's amazing how many wooden stamps you can get in each of these storage boxes. I store my stamps by category, so have labels on the individual boxes, i.e. animals, insects, children, hearts, sympathy, get well, etc. Then on the big box that holds 12 of the smaller boxes, I label with a number. (I now have 10 of the big boxes, so that means 120 of the small ones). I have an index typed up that shows what cagetories are in each of the big boxes. If I want heart stamps, I know to go to the #4 storage case, open it and there are my 2 smaller cases labeled heart stamps.
I use baseball sleeves (or ATC) sheets for a 3 ring binder for my $1 stamps... of course now some of them are starting to be bigger. But it seems to work for now and it will at least organize the ones that do fit.

This sounds like a good idea for unmounted stamps. If the baseball card sleeves are too small I would try sectioned photo pages. They hold 3 pics per page and the slots are bigger(hobby sells 8.5x11 size). I think I have seen them at office max also.
I am starting to use these Iris photo cases for some of my unmounted stamps. I am using double sided tape and putting it on clear plastic that I have cut from packaging. I just cut it to a size that will fit inside the case, put a couple of strips of tape on, and then put on the stamps. It seems to go quite smooth and they hold about 3 layers of stamps very easily. I then label the outside of the case so I can remember what stamps are in them.
I use those cases for extra die cuts I make. I like making a bunch at a time, and then I have them on hand when I'm working on projects, so I don't have to drag out the machine every time I want to cut a shape ... ESP mini tags!! I also use them to store the long containers of beads, and embroidery floss. You can get a set of 6 of them along with a storage container for the 6 cases at Office Max (sorry don't recall the price).

This is my method of choice too - holds an awful lot of stamps!!!!!
