Wow, this was a great thread I must have folders full of scrap paper and going to make some 'quilt' cards. thanks for all the ideas/sharing. Got my mojo working.
Awesome thread!!! Here are some cards I put together with some scraps leftover from a couple scrapbook pages... (similar layouts have been posted already)

What a great layout! Keep the ideas coming, my DP pile is shrinking.

Know you asked for cards, but if you are really desperate to use up designer paper, I love making little gift bags. I have a pattern and they come out looking like a small tote bag, with the inverted sides and all. You could get two medium sized bags out of one sheet of 12 x 12 paper. How you decorate the top--two cords for handles, a scalloped topper, a button or bow, can change the look of even the same paper. I would include a picture, but I have absolutely no clue how to do it and I don't have a gallery here.
Thanks for all the ideas. I have been on a quest to use up a lot of my hoarded DP too, so I was very pleased when I saw this thread. While searching the gallery this morning I found this MCCC Bootcamp March challenge by jor at Splitcoaststampers, green, chocolate chip and thought it may help you all a bit as it has helped me.
I hope this isn't considered hijacking the thread but while I am trying to use up DP I am finding it very hard to know what to do with the very large prints and very large stripes. Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution for it? Thanks!

Not sure about large stripes on a card, but they would work for the gift bags, wrapping paper ideas mentioned. So would the large prints, but I have used those on cards by covering the entire card front (maybe use a larger or square card), and then cover that with the same size vellum panel stamped with a similar outline image and greeting in a coordinating embossing powder (or just the greeting), add a bow or brads and done!

Thanks! I am loving the vellum idea! When I cut the paper into card front sized pieces some of the pieces aren't as nice as the others so this will work beautifully!
Great post and great examples everyone. I've got a stash of gorgeous dp but I've come to realize my style is more CAS. So I find it very hard to know how to use the dp. I guess I should give some of it away, but I do love looking at it

If you love to look at it maybe you could display it in your craft space (framed or just in a page protector hanging from a clip/rod). Or use it for cards you donate ... just because it's no longer your preferred style doesn't mean they won't be nice and appreciated, kwim.
Another way to use DSP that you no longer like is to make envelopes (I think someone previously suggested envelope liners). Even if it is double-sided you can use labels for the mailing info.

My style is more CAS too. But I'm trying to challenge myself to use more DP in my card. It doesn't have to make them more difficult or less clean, just add a little more pop! You don't have to do it for every card-just try it every so often.

subbing! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful ideas. I too have a large stash of DP and often ignore it or have a difficult time using it up. Thanks for the inspiration!
one of my fav ways to use up dp is to do the one sheet wonder cards.i don't have a photo but there are lots on scs. i like to do my cards in multiples and that always helps me and then if i have lots of the same paper i make a tote or small handcrafted gift to go with it. or if there is scraps (not often) i make embellishments or quilt cards.I just find when i do have lots of scraps trying to get the coordinating color choices down is sometimes a pain.but it all works out in the end happy crafting!

Here's another link http://sherrie-cardcreme.blogspot.co...s%20production It is a blog with "mass production" of cards and most of them use DSP. I like to massively produce cards too. Is there something wrong with me for liking that feeling of over production? I can't be the only one am I? I don't even sell cards yet, I love to make them like that. I know I am weird! :-)
OMGosh this is awesome, thanks for sharing....
I Love to mass produce... why make one great card when you can make 10? hahahahaha... I make 15 male and 15 female b-day cards and all the aunties and uncles and brothers and sisters get the same card... no one ever seems to catch on...
Just one question for all you ladies who are vigilant about using your DSP. How do you suggest organizing it so that you will use it? By color, pattern, other??????

I organize by color--which is easy if it is DP from SU that is specific to a core or in color. If it has several colors-- pink, yellow, green for example-- I decide which color is predominant or which color I would be most likely to use it with (like pink) and put it with the pink DP. If it is truly multicolored, I have a multicolor folder and it goes in there. Since that folder has two sections built in, I can put my seasonal DP of which I have VERY little. That may not work if one has lots of multicolored or seasonal/occasion papers. I don't buy/use much DP as I really prefer to make my own with stamps, inks and fun techniques. That way I can have the colors I need/want that match perfectly.

I try to do it by color too, but when you have multicolored stripes, florals, etc, it can get a little crazy. I like the idea of having a different folder for those and for seasonal pages. I usually always have Christmas and Fall/Halloween paper that I can't decide where to put!

I separate my paper by themes (Halloween, Christmas, flowers, stripes, dots, textured, etc.) except for the tone-on-tone/single color SU papers that are stored with their cardstock counterparts. Other solid-ish papers are organized by color if they don't fit one of the categories (usually they are textured and end up there).
I following the suggestion of several SCS folks to cut my leftover DSP into either 4x6 or 6x6 pieces. Each has its own baggie w/the name of the DSP and its colors. All my baggies fit in a little milk crate. I have a photo box of non-SU papers that are sorted by colors and major Seasons (Christmas, Halloween, Easter). Both are close to my desk so I use them. If someone has lots of extra Walk In The Park, I'm down to slivers and would love to trade with you :-)
If you want to use it up really fast, try making some of those shopping/gift bags that take 2 pieces of 12x12 paper. They're beautiful and you'll have a lot of bags ready to use for what ever.
Hi everyone!
We love it when SCS'ers start sharing and motivating one another! That's why we're here!
However,. please share your photo ideas either directly attaching your photos within the threads, or by linking only to your SCS gallery photos, rather than linking to your blogs & off-site photo albums.
Thanks a bunch, & carry on with the fabulous ideas! ;)

Do you have directions to make these? I checked the resource page and found a bag-a-lope but I don't think its the same.

I downloaded the PDF file for the gift bags and they are really cute. However, the directions say to score and fold the two sheets of DP according to the pattern. I don't see a pattern. Am I missing something? I really want to make some of these bags!
I LOVE DP ~ almost as much as I love ribbon! =) I also use a lot of DP for monogrammed notecard sets....great gift! Here are a few from my little gallery:
