I love cold weather. Sometimes I wonder if I grew up in the wrong part of the world. I like the change of season but in Miami that really doesnt happen! I would love a place that is green when it needs to be green and you dont go outside for 5 minutes and you come back in with a tan! And hurricanes are just no fun!
Nikki--I don't love the cold weather but I love the change of seasons. I moved from upstate NY (I've known Kari since jr high) to North Carolina and that is the only thing I miss about the weather...the changing of the seasons, but not the cold.

Kari is still hard at work on her grad school classes and educating special needs children.... boy that eats up lots of time!! Wouldn't it be great for her to be able to ...
open her scrapbox full of her crafting supplies
whip up a pretty liitle card for ... me?? or you?
close it back up and move on with the day??
Her small apartment would always be large enough for her needs. How wonderful that would be...

Hey Kari do you work with T.M.H kids? I do know how hard that is a work with them too.. I'm there now its just that through out the day I only take care of two of them. Im there nurse but ive been working with them for two years.
Wow! This thread has been very uplifting to read! Kari, it looks like you have a wonderful support group of caring and loving friends - and I'm so glad to know they have been, and continue to be, there for you along your path. I was just out in MA with my family visiting my sister's fam! I can only imagine how cold those crafting supplies would get in storage! Good luck!
I was going to enter too! But I have seen some of the letters from folks who need it more then me, so I also will not put my name in; instead I will wish really really hard on a star and hope the neediest and most appreciative person will win! I am sure there are many of you!
And maybe I do hear "ROAD TRIP!!". Wouldn't that be fun! we could help set it up, rent a conference room in apt building for a week, sleep and craft there. sounds like a nice break and vacation..
sometimes we all need a little TLC.
good luck ladies!!!

I agree!! I do not know you ladies, but would love to meet you all. Plus I could go it would be close to home.

I didn't "know" them either when I first drove about 4 hours and 250 miles to spend a day stamping with them (and stayed overnight at snowcountry311's house). They are now my very good friends and I wish they'd move a bit south as I don't like cold weather (wish I lived in a warmer climate but at least our snowfall is emasured in inches and not feet!)
They immediately make you feel welcome, are very sharing, talented and fun. I think that they (we) have good hearts is evidenced by our support of Kari and it's great that others' are joining in too!:-D

Can you imagine the craziness when Kari wins and we all show up at her door to help lug it up the 3 flights of stairs and put it together!!! I figure it will have to come out of the box and up the stairs in pieces...

- How often would you anticipate needing to close it all up so it would be tucked away and out of sight?
- What would your approach be for keeping the work area uncluttered so you'd continuously have open crafting/work space?
- What else would you do to the area you'd place it in to augment it (since our craft supplies exceed our capacity to store them, WorkBox or not! - LOL!)?
- Based on the photos of it, what if your favorite nook or cranny in it?

Kari - we'd better contact the local Days Inn for a special SCS Scrapbox Winner's Friend's room rate;)
I like your thinking!!
I really like all of the new friends who are supporting Kari. Have I mentioned what a wonderful community SCS is?

Sorry for the delay... as Chris said, I've been at class tonight and did teach all day.
I think I would plan on tucking it up most of the time that I'm not actively working on a project, in part as an effort to keep it less cluttered, and therefore more usable.
As for all the extra things that won't fit in the scrapbox, I have a coat closet in the living room which I was already planning to use for stamping/crafting supplies. I also have a few small organizers that don't have anything living in them yet. I can't do a whole lot else to the area (shelving etc) becuase I am a renter....
I think my favorite thing about the ScrapBox (from the pics) is the versatility of it... how everything is movable so I can customize what I put where, and then change my mind and move it all again! But that's also why all my friends will have to come and help me assemble, I won't be able to make those decisions alone...

Actually, I work with kids with autism. I'ts been my "group" since I got in the field, 12 years ago now. They're great kids, but they can have their tough moments... then again, don't we all?!?
Maybe it's time for me to look up a group rate at a local hotel.... everyone's invited! It can be an assemble the ScrapBox/ stamp all night weekend.... oh yeah, but first will have to be carry the ScrapBox up to the 3rd floor.... that would be the worst part!
