A while ago I found a post (I think on this board) about making cards for nestabilities out of card stock.. running the card through the xyron to laminate it and then sticking strips of magnet tape on the cards to store your nesties on. I finally got around to doing it and my magnet tape that I purchased at Stapes if that matters will not stick on the edges. I put it on the cards and put it under heavy paper pads overnight etc. but they edges keep pulling up. Any ideas? Thank you!

I had that same problem so I switched to magnetic sheets: either vent covers (also available from Lowes or some Wal-marts) or the sheets from Oriental Trading which already have adhesive on the back. I've been satisfied with both. Good luck.

Thank you Dea. I think that is what I am going to have to do too because I just can't get the edges to stick good. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a fix first. I do love how they are turning out though other than that. I unmounted my stamps and put ezmount on the back. Too bad my ez-mount backed rubber stamps won't stick to the laminated cards too.
Sorry... when I was originally introduced to this tape...we called it Redline. I'm sure there are different names & brands. The package I have is called Terrifically Tacky Tape from Provo Craft. It is a permanent 2 sided tape & it happens to be red. I have it in 1/4" & 1/2" in a 5 yd roll.

Thanks Cindy. I googled it and it does look like a good option.
I used the magnet strips for a while, but switched to the sheets. I use the magnetic vent covers and use a heavy duty double stick tape to stick it to my laminated cards.
I like the sheets for a few reasons...
...the dies are magnetically stuck over the whole die instead of just small areas. They don't pop off.
...the sheets are thinner and don't use up as much space in my storage.
...they're very reasonably priced. ($5 buys 3 sheets 8x15. I get 18 pieces out of that package.)

Oh that is a nice price. Do you buy the double stick tape at Lowe's or Home Depot?
Do you ladies store other things on these laminated cards?
I find that the sheets from Oriental Traders work fine with my non-Nestie dies (I stick the sheets to medium weight chipboard), but my Nestie sets slide around and fall off them. After a lot of experimenting with several options I ended up buying the magnetic mini panels (5.5 x 8.25 in) from Crafters Companion to use with my Nesties. They are not a cheap solution, but they are very magnetic and what they save me in aggravation when I'm working with my Nesties has been worth it to me. And I don't put them in the binder they sell for them, I stand them in a bin.

I bought the vent covers at Home Depot and Reflections brand version of the red line tape this weekend. I removed the magnetic strips from my laminated (double layer) cardstock cards and it worked great!
I stick the cards that the Nesties came on to the back of the magnetic vent covers cut to size - adds rigidity and identifies the set. I slide them into 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" page protectors in a binder.
Edited to add: I should have mentioned that I don't keep the whole folder - I just cut out the portion of the front that identifies the set and matches the size of the magnetic cover...

That is a great idea too Sue. I was wondering if I needed to keep the folders and I will for a while to see if I change my mind later. I used alpha stamps and labled the laminated cards (before I laminated them) with the name of the nesties and how many are in the set.
My 2 cents...I use the folder...not the plastic that comes with the nesties...I put a magnetic sheet on the back...I put it all in a ziploc bag then I sort by shape
Sizzix make clear envelope and this is how i store my nesties. I put magnetic tape (found at Lakeshore teacher supply) on an index card and the nesties stay put. I slide the card into these clear envelopes. I label each envelope with my p-touch and store in a photo box. Works great.
The lifestyle crafts nesting dies like the circles don't fit in the envelope.... not sure what to do with these....
I bought it at the grocery store. So it must be readily available!
By the way, I use a standard size piece of cardstock, with the die label attached to it (nesties, SU, or others) and then laminate. Then I cut the magnetic sheets in even sized pieces and tape it to the back. The 8x15 inch sheets are cut to 4x5 inches and I get 6 per sheet of magnets.
Just realized in all my pictures of my craft room I don't have any of my die storage. Maybe I need to remedy that!
I use the plastic thin cases from SU for stamp storage, I think they are reasonably priced. I then cut the cover of the die(picture) that comes with it down to fit in the case, put a wide strip of magnetic roll and then p-touch the case. I store by shapes, like circles, squares, holiday, shapes, labels. I do like the envelope idea too, but I have far too many to do that, plus money invested in magnet and stamp cases.
