Default For Once I'm glad I'm a Packrat

I'm slowly building up my Nesties inventory so storage is becoming more important. I've seen where people use the magnet sheets to help keep them "under control". I'd rather save my $$ to buy more Nesties than magnet sheets so I've put the idea in the back of my head. Tonight as I trying not to spill my nesties everywhere I had an epiphany!

A few years ago our local university put out magnets with their basketball schedules printed on them. We had a stack of them at our front desk at work for people to pick up and take home. At the end of the season there was a handful left so I grabbed them thinking I would "alter" them somehow. I never got around to doing that .....but they make PERFECT Nestie storage sheets!!!

Several times in the past year or so I see them sitting in my closet and think I should just toss them since I'm obviously not going to do anything with them. Now I'm so glad I didn't!!!

PeaJay, that is a smart idea. What will you put the magnetic sheets in?

I use advertising magnets too We get a few every year with a calendar on them and the other half would keep them all as they're good for knocking up gaskets out of them. I pinched them for my nesties and store them in one of those lunch pail tins that were popular a few years ago. I keep my embossing folders in there too.

If you need more magnetic material (before the 2010 calendars are out-of-date :p) for the rest of your nesties - try this - cheap, easy to find, and you can easily cut it to any size that you need (you might have to copy and paste the link or just go to Lowe's website and search for "vent cover")

http://www.lowes.com/pd_73204-1410-MC815%252F3_0_?productId=3135119&Ntt=register%20cover&Ntk=i_products&pl=1&currentURL=/pl__0__s?newSearch=true$Ntt=register%20cover$y=8$x =43

In one $4.47 package (at least at the Fort Worth Lowes), you get THREE 8" x 15" sheets of magnetic nestie-holding sweetness. I cut mine with my old Kai (rubber stampcutting) scissors and it works beautifully! For CD cases, I just cut a couple of strips to fit the case and then glue them in place. For the big nestie sets like the long rectangles, I just cut a piece that will hold the largest nestie and all the others fit inside.

Hope it helps a little....

They fit perfectly back into the thin clamshell packaging the Nesties came in. then I just stand them up in the cabinet I use for storing my craft/stamp stuff.
