Question Storing Daubers and Sponges by color

How do you all store these? I marked each Dauber with my Dynamo type Labeler with SU color.

I want to keep a sponge and Dauber for each color together. I hate digging for things. ( lazy I guess)

Any ideas???

Linda

I use the rubbermaid (or similar) 3 drawer unit for mine. Not the 12x12 one but the smaller one. I just pull the drawer out when I need my daubers or sponges. If you stack 2 together you can have a drawer for each color family, one for neutrals, and then one for the in colors. I buy mine at walmart

Thanks, that was what I was considering but wanted to see if anybody had thoughts on this. On my way to Walmart later today or in AM. Gotta clean the house a little.

I have mine in bead organizers and they are labeled. I also have other types of sponges in each compartment. I will have to get some photos taken soon.

I keep my ink pads and daubers in photo boxes. I have boxes for certain color families. That way the ink pad is in the same box as the dauber so I can grab whatever I need without digging.

A note about labeling -- I purchased the little labels SU sells to label stamp pads and used those to label my daubers. Of course, after the 1st one, I realized I have to put the label onto a small white label, then stick that label on the dauber because the SU labels are clear with black print and the daubers are black. Apparently, my hair is completely blonde until it comes out of my head

That's a great idea too!!!

Thumbs up

I've long kept mine in these $1.49 compartmentalized plastic boxes. There's plenty of space for a dauber to be paired with the sponge wedge too. ;)

You ladies are so organized.
I just use my sponges over and over no matter what color[I do try to use light over light inked sponge.] I've also washed my sponges.
I've just rubbed my dabbers.
Perhaps I just don't use them as much as you all do.
I'll have to use them more and then I see the need to organize them.
Thanks for the hints.

I already am running out of space but I think a jewelry organizer (the one with the hook to hang in the closet) with lots of pockets will work. Yes, this will free up one more drawer that I can use for something else.

I use the same drawers as anniepie above...they are 8.5 x 11. However, like Tracy I have my ink pads, the sponges, and the daubers together. One drawer holds one color family of stamp pads, 12 sponge sections and 12 daubers.

I've thought about using this idea, but I'm not sure these storage cases are available any longer:

I use this box for my sponge daubers
Dauber Storage by versamom at Splitcoaststampers
I found it at Gary Burlin's booth at our annual Rubber Stamp Show at a very reasonable price. For my labels I write on a small piece of white paper and use double-sided tape to wrap it around the dauber.
For my sponges I just keep them all in a ziploc baggie. I don't segregate those by color.

Default storing daubers & sponges

I store my sponges in a plastic 3 drawer unit. In the bottom 2 drawers I have the sponges separated by BB, EE, RR, & SS. The top drawer is for In Color inks & sponges as well as misc. inks. ( I don't like getting ink all over my fingers, so I cut the sponges in 1/2 & put them on a popcicle stick then label the stick with the color!)
