Default CD Box Instructions

Here is some info on the month-by-month CD box and cases:

The inspiration (and templates) came from Paper Crafts magazine (Oct & Nov 2004 issues). I altered each calendar page a bit to make it fit the cd case - the originals in the magazine are for a 8 x 8 scapbook. The CD case measure 5 x 5 inches.

The CD cases are from Uline.com - they come in 100 count-cases:

I searched every craft store in my town for a square box that would fit cd cases - I had no luck so I was forced to make one. Basically, make two boxes, one a bit larger than the other.

I made the box from heavy poster board. I used the cd cases to get my measurements. I cut the posterboard to make two squares - box top is a 17.25 inch square and box bottom is a 15.75 inch square. I then scored the square into thirds vertically and horizontally - every 5.75 inches for the top. For the bottom, score every 5.25 inches. Make a cut on the score lines of the top third middle square and the bottom third middle square. Then fold into a box shape and adhere with strong glue - I used rubber cement. I trimmed some of the bottom edge off the box top (about 1/2 inch) once I glued it together because it was too long.

I hope this makes sense - happy stamping!

Yea, I actually have those issues and was able to find them. Thank you so much for taking the time to send me the information and the directions for making the box. I browsed through your site and enjoyed looking at all of your beautiful creations. You are one talented person! Really love those wellies and can't wait to make them for a dear friend of mine. I think I'll leave them on her porch so she can be surprised when she gets home from work. Thanks for the inspiration! Happy stamping.

These are ADORABLE!!! I'm so in awe... I would LOVE to make something like this!!! (Unfortunately all my pregnant friends are due in the next month or so... not enough time to create!!)

Can I ask how you did the calendar page? Did you create it or steal it from somewhere? Is it just a single page that slips in that pocket, or is there more to it? Also, would the recipient just burn her pictures from that month onto CD and slip in in the appropriate place, or would she slip actual pictures in there? Just curious... couldn't get a good idea from the pictures and I'm SO not creative enough to come up with this on my own! Thanks so much for sharing your work!
