Hey ladies! I'm having problems with SCS tonight too so I'll go back and leave love later.
I did three more pages yesterday/today (and I'm off to do another one in just a few minutes!!) So I'm over my goal by three for right now!

Kit Clubs:
I design for Color Me Daisy and Scrap-Tastic and I JUST started subscribing to My Scrapbook Nook (because I'm resigning from S-T.) I agree with pretty much everything the other gals have said, but I would add that having a kit is really nice because you know everything is going to match/coordinate and most of the time it has more than one manufacture/paper line in it too. So you can try a little from a lot of companies but it will all match which makes for easy scrapping without a lot of searching through your stash.
I'm not really sure what your style is, but looking at the link you sent I'd find a different kit because I think you could get a lot more for your $$$.

Ever since we picked her out, she has been photogenic. I took two photos when she was with all of her brothers and sisters, and even then, she was looking at the camera!!

I made my Scrapping goals Last Week... as you can tell from my siggy! And then with all the awesome VSN challenges tonight I was able to make my stampin' goal for the month also. So come MOnday... we start a new month.
I have early morning church meetings so I think I am headed to bed. I will see you all on Monday... with new goals and new ideas!
I can't believe I managed to do 47 pages during the month of January. My goal was to do 10. It just worked for me, and I would like to finish up my trip to Germany.

Congratulations on all the pages you were able to get done. Your Germany album has been awesome! I know you'll be inspired to finsh it up in February. Can't wait to see the rest.

Is this the one thru Ashton Drake? I signed up for one she does thru Ashton Drake. I've received the first kit but still trying to decide if it's worth it. You get everything you need for 3 dble pge spreads and a little extra supplies. There is also a booklet to show you exactly how to design the pages. it works out to be $5 per page. I think I could buy a lot more for that.
I have a hard time with $$ for scrapbook kits and totally pick the "naked album" look. I seldom use a background paper. Looking at the lo here I feel like there's not many of us out there... anyone else using little or no background papers??
If you ladies have some tutorials about tagging that would be great. I dabble in downloading digi freebies all the time (like I just downloaded the cute one at PageMaps). I have a lot of my digi stuff in folders, but it's beginning to get helter/skelter... any pointers would be appreciated!
A quick hello! off to Costco. I finished lots. very productive month yay! will tally up ltr. tonight. Anyone watching Grammy's?

don't stress Natalie. Just enjoy doing the pages you do get done. If I don't reach my goal, I might set my next month goal a little lower and tell myself that I would like to go over that goal by the number that I was short the month before. Clear as mud, right? That way you feel like you reached your goal for the month, plus got "caught up" for the previous month. Win-win

Anyway, goal was 30, did 28 and am letting it go with that, almost as much as I did all last year =)

Such a great page and a great day to celebrate. My Mom passed away twenty years ago when she was 72 and 1/2 years old. I am happy that you Mother is still with you to celebrate.
I completed my goals for January!! Yay Me!! I actually went over. I complete 12 pages and joined 2 swaps. This is a first for me. So for January, I completed 18 12 x12 kit sets. (no sheets, just the fillers) So when I get these back, I'll be able to get so many great pages done quickly. I'm so excited!!

These are not monthly kits, just kits. I was reading the comments someone wrote about not using a lot of background paper and it got me thinking about the kit suggestions. Joann's has Colorbok kits in the store (I'm not seeing them online) they have just patterned paper and embellies (stickers, alpha chipboard, and some other things) They aren't very expensive and all you really need is matching cardstock, which they have there. Same with the Me and My Big Ideas kits. Or if you like the Simply Scrappin' Kits from Stampin' Up, you can buy them on ebay for a little cheaper. Most are kits that are no longer in the catalog. If you haven't done Simply Scrappin', they have cardstock and patterned paper and matching stickers. Also, I have Tuesday Morning near me (I don't know if you do) but they have had some K & Company kits and some other companies too and they are discounted.
Things I would think about before buying a kit:
(1) Do you like to try different things?
(2) Do you have a very specific style or do you like most things?
(3) What do you like to use the most when you scrapbook? (do you want ribbon, cardstock, chipboard, patterned paper, vellum quotes, rub-ons)
(4) How much do you want to spend?
If you answered no to #1, I wouldn't do a monthly kit. If you answered specific style to #2, I wouldn't do a monthly kit. So then the goal is to find a kit that has similar things to what you answered in #3 and accomplishes #4.
If you answered yes to #1 and you like most things (#3) then a monthly kit is a fun way to accomplish those.

Hi ladies! Sorry I have been MIA - I have gotten a lot of things done this month, but have been kind of scatterbrained lately.
Took my DD to the allergist last week and found out she has a major sinus infection and has to take antibotics for 3 weeks. She hasn't been acting funny or anything, just coughing. Then they ran some allergy tests on her and found out that she isn't allergic to eggs or black pepper anymore, but to wheat (and still peanuts). Been trying to adjust to that huge change and realizing that most foods/breads/desserts contain wheat. :( I hope to get everything all figured out in the next week or so and start to be able to participate more.
I hope to update my goals tonight and upload pictures tomorrow.

That is a good idea...I'll keep that in the back of my mind!! I may find myself in the same situation during a different month. :-D

also be aware that mustard & ketchup also contain wheat. You need to read every single label until you find out what products do contain wheat -- wayyyy more than you would think.

I just checked and ours don't have wheat in them. She is not allergic to gluten, just wheat. Although the two allergies have similar diets, they are different (at least that is what the allergist told us). Thanks for the heads up, though! :-D

Holy smokes -- 41 pages ??? That's amazing and awesome!! You deserve a big pat on the back (and no pokes in the ribs!! lol) CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Just counted up everything I did and I got 38 pages done - that was a lot more than I thought. Congrats to everyone who reached their goal. I hope to get just as much done if Feb.

My January page total amazed me - I had set my goal at 7 pages a month for the year, however, I did 20 pages this month! May not do that many again in February, but I'm thinking 7 is too low of a number for me now that I have settled in a bit more in my new home.
So happy for everyone who met their goals and for anyone who got more done than you would have had it not been for the encouragement here.
Looking forward to just an wonderful of a month in February.

Managed to get 8 pages done this month. Didn't make my goal of 10 but I'm still very happy with what I did get done. Thanks for everyone's inspiration!

I was thinking gluten. Thank goodness it is not a gluten allergy. Wheat will be enough to have to eliminate.

YAY! I reached my goal and went over by 1! You guys look like you are doing great too! 39 pages Liz? That's just crazy! Congrats!
LOL - most of them were 8x8 and I don't even get to keep (gift for grandma). This month I get to do my OWN things - SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT!
Congrats on meeting (and exceeding) your goal as well!

Fingers crossed that it doesn't turn out to be gluten!! Will find out more in March. I think I'm getting cross-eyed from reading ingreedient labels

Did you know that even some seasonings, like Taco Seasoning, have wheat in them? Old El Paso doesn't but most others do!
