Happy New Year everyone! I just finished two calendars - one for me and one for my mother... and each one has 12 layouts, so I'm counting the one I'm keeping as 12 pages towards my goal - woo hoo!! Upload is down right now but I'll upload a few of the cuter pages later on... glad to see everyone working hard towards their goals
Thanks for all the kind words on my California book! When I created it, I set out to make sure it was a consistent style and not just a collection of individual pages. So I used background papers from the same designer and didn't do any paper layers other than the background. The photos were all put into curled photo frames, so it was always a bit of a challenge to find the right frame that had enough openings for the photos I wanted to use for a given page. Sometimes I had to re-create frames if I needed more openings, etc... so it got to be tedious. But that's essentially it - no embellishments at all, with the exception of maybe a paint stroke behind journaling.
I know for me, if I hadn't put those limitations on myself, I never would have completed the book. the added benefit is that I have a book that has a consistent look!

52 Week Challenge #1
Good Morning Everyone & Happy New Year!
I am so excited to be the first Hostess for this year's 52 week challenges and I thought we would start the year off with a BANG!!!!!
Over the past two weeks all of us here have been putting a lot of thought and ideas into our goals and plans for the upcoming year and I thought it would be good to kick our scrapping year off with a great "COMBO" challenge.... sort of like our variety challenges.
SO my challenge to you all for this week is to create a Layout, page or DPS using a "COMBO" (at least 4 ) of the things from the list....
1. A Theme or your "Mission Statement"
2. Winter color combination
3. Mixed Embellishments
4. A beginning and an end photo
5. 2010 goals or plans (this would be a combo of today's challenge and Diana's variety challenge from yesterday... found here SBVC107 - Resolutions)
6. 3 different ribbons
7. Stamped Background or Accent pieces
8. Variety of chipboard, Tags or Shapes
9. Photos of you
10. Flowers
My theme for the Year is to "BE A FRIEND IN 2010" which goes along with my personal mission statement and as many of you know includes a whole list of goals, including starting off with myself. Therefore, I thought it only fitting to start the year off with me... My page is very simple and yet a reflection or renewal for myself, loaded with a variety of things from the challenge list. Also, you will notice the empty frame on my LO, which I plan on placing a photo of me at the end of the year.

Morning, Glories!
The air is chilly, it looks like we might even get some snow in the next few days...brrrr.
I am fighting my way through Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 and really missing my lovely CM+ software. I'm sure this will be enjoyable (?) once I get some of the learning curve under my belt. And more elements... must figure out how to get my digi yummies off the PC and onto the Mac.
The good news: TWO PAGES ACCOMPLISHED!!!! One was a quick page, one was 'from scratch"! YAY! I'm [happy dancing] to have something to show for the eye strain. lol
My afternoon project is to reclaim the craft space from it's Christmas chaos... and then I'm hoping to get some paper scrapping done before my university course begins next week. [fingers crossed]
Hope you're all have a great and scrappy day!!
Kristin

Once I post to a thread (page) then I get regular emails telling me that others have posted to the same thread... That way I can just go to my emails and click the thread that I want to go to. And if you don't want to mix Split Coast Stampers with other personal or business emails, then you can always set up an email account just for this, I know others who have done that.

Hey ladies!!! I hope you're all having a great January so far.
I fell off the wagon last year (as far as keeping track of scrappy stuff) while I was preggo but I'm going to give it a go again this year. I like knowing how much I've done! lol.
I can't wait to go back and look at all the pages you gals have gotten done already this year too.
Wow Gina and CK are back - this is going to be fun
ps. Gina - that's why I bought SU's MDS, hoping to stay on top of my scrapping, never knew I would be a digi girl, but I am loving it!!

What a great reward it is to connect with dear friends!!! And let me tell ya, I've worked for the reward today! My GF has offered to take my not-wanted scrap supplies and sell them at a local garage sale. ALL. OF. THE. STUFF. I. DON'T. NEED. OR. USE. OR. WANT.
Um.... she ROCKS!!!!
So today I have been culling paper, and paper, and paper. Whoa, Nelly. This girl was on a paper binge a few too many times! So today I was culling paper, making a neat stack, careful not to bend the corners...and WHAM! The table collapsed! LOL Seriously, too much paper! ;-)
So great to connect with you girls, really SO GREAT!!!!!

Thanks!
Hey Valerie! I have one and I love it! It's not something that gets used ALL the time but I do feel that I use it enough to justify the cost (plus it was a gift! lol) It's just so nice to be able to make my own mini album, or journal or anything else whenever I want. It's great for whipping up last minute gifts too. HTH

reminds me of the lady I have been doing my fetal monitoring with - not intentionally we are just on the same schedule. And this one was a surprise for her happened 2 weeks after she had just sold everything at a garage sale. So she will have a 9 6 and baby, all boys too, she was of course hoping for a girl to make her feel better about selling it all
