Default Mid-month Check Up

I have almost completed my family cookbook/scrapbook. I haven't uploaded my pictures yet, so I haven't counted them toward my goals. I plan on doing that in a few days. Next month I plan to be a little more specific on my goals and work on several projects at once (mini/disney/special events).

Hope everyone else is doing well on their goals!

I hope you can come VSBN with us this weekend...know it's hard when you're the only parent but maybe a few challenges here and there :-)

Starting at 6pm I am off for 4 days. What times are the challenges for VSBN?

Wink I hope I'm not too late!

So now that my VSBN "test drive" is over, here is what I came up with:

Swap cards - 8/month
Christmas Cards - 8/month for a total of 80. I figured I'd get them done before November, that way I can have them mailed before December 24th this year!
Other Cards - 1/week at least
Challenges - 1/week at least
Budget - Use at least 90% stash for each project - limiting my purchases to only solid cardstock to match paper I already have.
Scrapbook LO's - 9/month for a total of 100. I'm sure I'll have an extra here and there!

Good luck to everyone on their goals! Happy Scrappin!

i know i'm late to this but:

scrapping/cardmaking/papercrafting:
- layouts end of year goal - 120 layouts (layouts = 12x12, i'm not counting individual pages done, but completed layouts) (completed 8/120)
- layouts monthly goal - 10 layouts (jan: 2/10, feb-june: 0/10, july: 8/10)
- pare down my stash more!! mostly use up the old stuff that i've been holding onto for a "special" page/project. i'd like to be able to condense my stash/storage WITHOUT purging too much.
- cards monthly goal - 3 cards (jan: 0/3, feb: 1/3, mar: 4/3 apr-july: 0/3)
- cards end of year goal - 40 cards (completed: 1/40)
- mini's - 1 album per month (jan: 0/1, feb: 1/1, mar: 0/1)
- use the TON of swap pages/border sets i've stored up
- start AND finish disney albums (2 albums/2 trips), does not count toward mini-album but if i decide to do 12x12 it can count towards layouts
- christmas cards done by thanksgiving '10, postal first week of december (need to make 150)

knitting & sewing:
- 1 new project on the needles every month (jan: 1/1, feb 0/1, mar: 0/1)
- make beanies for the males in the family (10) for christmas and have it done by december! (completed 0/10)
- learn to cable!
- 1 new item sewn every month (jan: 0/1, feb 1/1, mar: 0/1)
- make a bag
- make a quilt

i think that about covers my personal crafting goals for the year!!

Default Question for you

Forgive my newbie questions but I was wondering what an "altered item" was?

Kathryn~

An altered item is anything that isn't made of only paper. Think if you wrapped a container- it would be altered

OK, better latter than never  so here goes

120- 12x12 scrapbook pages (using only papers from my stash)
40 - cards (not counting Christmas cards)
actually sending out the cards this year.
I do not do altered items very often, no room, nor does anyone I know need/want them.

I have 10 pages completed for January

So we are nearing the end of the month and I am mostly on target. I figured I would divide my goal equally by month. The scrapbooking is going very slowly though! I am working on my son's album (our first baby) and I am so picky about the pages - they have to be just right! I have done many albums before (vacation, gifts, family etc) but this one I am really agonizing over! The 4/60 pages I have done - well I have technically done about 8 pages because I keep redoing them. At this rate 60 pages is going to take me 2 years not 1! Ha ha!

I met all of my goals except for my xmas cards goal, but hey, January isn't over yet!!

I blew my scrapbook page goal outta the water thanks to VSBN, I think I have 12 or 13 pages done, and my goal was 9!

I'm going to try to break down my goals a little bit and maybe they will be more attainable. I finished my cookbook scrapbook, so I don't have to worry about that anymore!! woot!

For the month of Feb I am setting a goal for 20 pages. Here is the break down:

3rd Birthday LO = 4-6 pages
Pre-school pics = 4 pages
Christmas 2010 pics = 6 pages (plus or minus 2)
Disney Lo's = 8 pages (4 for mine and 'matching' ones for DD's scrapbook)
Halloween mini = 1 or 2 pages
December Daily Album 2009 = finishing touches
Order pictures from January 2010

Extra's (if I have time):
4 year photo shoot = 4-6 pages
4 year birthday parties = 6 pages
January 2010 pics = 4 pages

Wow! That is already over 20 pages. Guess I'd better get to work!

Love how you broke this down so specifically Liz. It really helps to have a detailed road map like this some days. I need to get to this level so I can FOCUS! TFS!

Hello everyone. I have been MIA for some time. Life takes over and scrapping takes a back seat. I hope to get at least 2 pages per month done for a total of 24 this year. Dd is getting older and napping less so I have less time to myself during the day. I don't like scrapping at night much because of poor lighting. Anyway, that's my goal. I'm sure I will make it.

Well I totally missed my goal for January ... only got 2 of 8 done. Was hoping that work at January would be slow but that turned out not to be the case.

Would like to get 60 pages total done for the year so I have 58 left ... at 6 pages left per month I should be able to meet that goal so February will be 6 pages.

However, for the next 10 days, scrapping is not in the picture. DH's birthday was Monday night and I made his favorite meal for him. While I was washing the dishes I cut my right thumb (I'm right handed) with a brand new serrated knife. Needles to say, we spent most of the night at the ER ... ended up with four stitches and they have to stay in for 10 days. They also don't want me bending my thumb so that I don't pull the stitches out. I guess this will be birthday DH will remember!

oh Michele - sorry to hear about the finger.... I actually have a system I learned long ago from a babysitter that I put all my silverware ~ especially knives in the sink on the left side so I always know where they are. that babysitter was 35+ yrs ago! (I'm only 42 ;) ) I wash sharp filet knives all the time and doing that helps.

I'm so excited I finished up an altered project today for an auction at my son's school. Each classroom donates a gift basket to be auctioned and ds1's teacher chose a garden theme. I saw some cute "plant label markers" this weekend and decided I had to try it! tHese were fun!
