It's a sad day for me. We had to put Bailey, one of our beloved dogs, down today. He filled our lives with pleasure for nearly 13 years, but his health was failing fast and today we knew it was time to let him go. I think I'll scrap a couple of pages of him one day soon.
What a beautiful dog, and what a great name he had. So sad:(
Consentrate on those 13 years and I'm sure many smiles will cross your heart

Aw Wendy, so sorry for your loss. I had to do that with my cat of 13 years a few years ago. We do have another lovely cat but still the loss hurts. Try to only think of the joyful times...God Bless!
I've been wanting to do more cards so I think I'll play the mini vsn this weekend in addition to our mini vsbn...FUN WEEKEND! Just printed out a copy of our vsbn challenges and plan to start about noon est.
Hubby went to bike store, girls are at a friends swimming (90 here in FL), and I finally feel well enough to play in the craft room...YIPEEE! Gonna get a load of movies, watch my HULU and craft...check back with ya'll in a few hours :-)

Good Morning All....
I am here and I am spending the day here! I am taking what my friend calls an "Art Therpy" Day. I have totally organized my new space, stocked the guys with food and honey-dos, picked out some new LO templets, and sorted through some photos. Now I am off to find the challenges and some friends. Anyone else hanging around today?
I'm with ya on the Art Therapy. I'm going to finish up a few things around here then start crafting...probably sign on again about 3-ish...see ya 'round later!

I've been good and separated the dirty laundry, took a shower, and made DD1 and I lunch. I'm locking myself in the scrap room now and not coming out unless someone shouts 'FIRE!'...or something equally serious :smile:

Oh Wendy, I'm so sad to hear that. We've had our dog for 12 years so I feel for ya!

Happy Saturday Morning, Girls!
The sun is shining on this crisp fall day, one kid has a bye week (no game) and the other has a late morning game. Ahhh, the smell of Tim Horton's coffee, my newly scrapped pages sorted and into albums...this is a good day.
Wendella, I am so sorry to hear about your dear Bailey. I had a dog for 5 days once and I remember how sad I was when my Mom returned it. I can't imagine how empty your house must feel without your canine friend after so many years. {{hugs}}
I am now on some prescriptions meds which are definitely helping my whiplash. Started massage therapy last week but apparently he has to go slow so as not to cause further damage...frankly, I'd like him to just jump on my back and crack the sucker back into place as it's fairly annoying the way it aches and shoots at me throughout the day. [eye roll]
May your day be filled with love and sunshiney moments!

So sorry for your loss Wendy. I think scrapping some pages of him will help you alot. Our pets are a part of our families and they are with those through the good and bad times...a constant loyal friend.

I've been MIA here with life and VSN and VSBN....but I have plans to be around more over the next couple of months ;) For now I can only pop in now and then.....
I have been getting some scrappin' done though!!! 6 dpl just last weekend!!! When I get a chance to shoot them I'll get them uploaded...
Off to finish up some VSN stuff...mini is tonight As well we're working on announcing the next VSBN coordinators....watch for that this evening ;)

There are some pretty famous quotes out there from movies and speeches, but what about quotes from books? Your first challenge is to select a quote from a book (be sure to tell us the title!) and use it as either your layout title or in your journaling.
I found a few famous quotes I thought had some fun scrapbooking possibilities. Feel free to use one of these, or come up with your own!

Challenge Two - Cover Inspiration
Some novels just have really striking covers. Take the cover of The Friday Night Knitting Club, for example. I love the bold colors on the black background, the centered white serif letters, and the little flourish on the right-hand side.
Your challenge is to use this book cover as inspiration for your layout - use it as the basis for a sketch, use the colors, anything that inspires you! Upload to SBC09OCTb
Challenge Three - In The Romance Section
Now we're headed to the romance section of the library! Create a layout about something/someone you love. No heaving bosoms necessary :mrgreen: Upload to SBC09OCTc
Challenge Four - Book Report Time
Book report time! For this challenge, I'm going to ask you to follow a specific format for your layout or project.
- Use 1 photo
- Use 2 pieces of cardstock
- Use 1 piece of patterned paper
- Use buttons, brads, and/or eyelets.

Challenge Five - Creative Writing
Your next challenge will channel YOUR inner author. Creative writing - it's all about the journaling. Your layout can be about absolutely ANYTHING, as long as you include at least 100 words of journaling on the page.
And no, the title doesn't count toward the 100 words!
Yes, this challenge is designed to CHALLENGE you! I am really looking forward to seeing some great stories. I know some of you are NOT fans of journaling, but don't worry. 100 words is only about the size of a paragraph. (In fact, I�ve written 101 words in this little description.) Go for it! Challenge Six - I Love A Good Series
Some of my favorite books to read are books belonging to a series. Sometimes I just fall in love with the characters and want more!
Your last challenge is to scrap a series of pictures (at least 2!). Here are some ideas to get you started:

Learning a new skill
Rearranging or redecorating a room
Changing seasons

Might still need something but it looks well balanced even if I don't really like the colors. This should take care of the Creative Writing challenge for the mini VSBN and thanks to Kirsten for her "Where were you when??? back in January!

I have been hanging out at the Mini-VSN. They had some great challenges tonight.... I got some great Christmas cards made. Anyway, I am headed to bed and I will see you all on MONDAY!

Wendy so sorry for the loss of you dog, I know exactly how you feel. Several years ago we lost our dog that we had for 17 years. It is a terrible feeling.
