Ink Smearing

I am new to digital stamping. I use water color pencils the most. How does everyone keep the ink from the printer from smearing when working with it?

I saw a recipe somewhere where the person made some homemade smooch that was made with alcohol and the shimmer paint that SU sold at Christmas. Does anyone have that recipe?

Anyone having trouble with their SU 2 step bird punch? Mine is sitting stuck closed and it is unlocked. No amount of jiggling can get it open.
