If you are using the cushion the easiest way to cut it is a hot knife. It's an exacto type knife that heats up. cuts through the cushion like butter and you can get very close to the rubber

I confirmed this by talking to spellbinders. They are indeed recalling all the raspberry wizards. Mine's in the mail and they told me to refuse shipment.
