First off, I need to say a huge THANK YOU to Kelly ScrappinCEO for getting this started last year. I kinda flaked and didn't get mine posted but I did keep up...She did a great job keeping things going but now her work life is taking over and she didn't feel she would have adequate time to cheer on all you overachievers here stayin ahead of the game. So she asked me to take over. I've got my pink cheerleader outfit and some sparkly pom poms, andVikkiJo has kindly agreed to be my co-cheerleader and will be popping in from time to time to keep things moving along.
How many times have you started your day with, ‘today is______ ‘s birthday. I wish I’d remembered to send a card.’ Or are you scrambling last minute to ‘just get one made’?
With the All Occasion Card Challenge, you can put all that behind you!
Each month… around the 20th, we’ll remind you to look at your card recipient list for the coming month.
WHO: Everyone that needs cards for b-days, anniversaries, get well....you know-anything.
WHAT: A way to get those card needs met ahead of time so you aren't scrambling at midnight to finish before next days event...(yeah, I know I've seen you there with me) There is no score keeping here! It's all for you and helping you stay motivated. Just look ahead to coming month and see what you need. then challenge yourself to get them done using our challenges or not. some months you may need 10 b-day cards and the next month none. whatever you need for coming month is what you do. For instance; some months I don't have any events and plan to do cards for the stash that I have trouble making at last minute like get well and sympathy cards.
WHY:To relieve stress! This way you’ll have cards for all your events made ahead!! We all know how busy life can be, so why not try to get your cards all done by the end of current month instead of night before! Remember, the whole idea behind this challenge is to make your life easier. we can all use that, right?
WHERE: First upload to your gallery then post a link in the designated thread. Please use AOCC13 in the Title or Keyword so that others can search for your cards! Please use only the thread that I start for each month or you might be missed, and we want y'all to get plenty of lovin for being such good overachievers.
To attach a link here, when the page you want us to go see is open, go to the address bar and 'copy the whole thing' then go to where you want it seen and paste it in the post box. If you need instructions for this check the attached PDF file drawn up by Vikki or PM me for further assistance.
WHEN: The whole month! There is no 'deadline' for getting your monthly cards done. This is just a motivational challenge to help you!
HOW: Just post a reply to this thread saying that you want to join and then start creating! Make your cards any way you like. Any tools, toys, gadgets, embellishments, etc...you decide- after all, these are YOUR cards.
Remember: with postal changes, mail may take a bit longer. Mailing within the first week of the month will help insure they have their card in plenty of time to enjoy it. Obviously, if their occasion is within that first week, you’ll want to mail earlier.
CHALLENGES:
There will be a challenge posted twice a month. You may use the challenge, or not, in your card designs. They are just to get the mojo going. I'll post the 1st of month challenge a few days ahead and will take volunteers for the 2nd one each month to be posted by the 15th. As we get going along, I will have a list of which post # the challenge is in so you won't have to search so long.
POSTING YOUR CARDS:
Because this is a challenge group, it is encouraged that you post a link to your gallery where everyone can leave you LOVINS, in the approprate thread for each month.
Welcome all to the group of gettin it done ahead of time at All Occasion Card Challenge 2013.
I'll try to keep track here of all that sign up to join in the fun. If I miss anyone please smack me with a PM and I'll get you down.
Please try to have your challenge posted a few days ahead of schedule for those that like to be really far ahead. I will come back to this post and add the post # of your challenge when avail so everyone can just skip from here. Please post your challenge in this main thread, not the monthly ones.
Challenges can be anything you want; color challenge, inspiration, sketch, whatever. Participants can choose to use them for mojo boosting or not. If for any reason you end up not being able to host a challenge you signed up for; just let me know, so I can fill in.

I would like to see how this works and hope I can keep up,...try me for 3 cards a month and I would like to post for June. This will give me time to see how this will work and what I can do for the challenge. I guess you might call this my "Leap of Faith" !!

Well if I'm going to be organized for my Christmas cards I might as well be for other cards as well. So sign me up for 4 cards a month.
One year my resolution was to do a card for everyone in my family, no late cards!! None forgotten either.
I'm sure all us have this stash.... a box of cards from all our online friends that are so pretty or creative you can't get rid of them.
Well I cut them up (kinda) and made a Rolodex out of them. With all my B'days
I don't do too well, because I have too many ways: A birthday book that has family and close friends, but haven't added to it as I have come forward. I get a church birthday/anniversary calandar in the mail our church paper every week. I have some on yellow sticky notes on my bulliton board on wall in front of my craft table. And some on sticky notes by my "sofa nest", some in my purse calandar, some in my other assorted nests. I even have figured out how to do electronic sticky notes on my laptop!
So my resoution this year is some how put these all together. You think!??? LOL
Sharon
LOL I always think of myself as the motivator... maybe I am the organizer! LOL
Please organize me!!!!! My DH accuses me of being a hoarder, and that makes for not much organization. Remember my craft room he redid for me in January. Well, it is over stuffed and messy already.
No back flips, just motivational cheerful enthusiasm! LOL
I showed you mine... now show me yours! LOL
Some of you already know ... I am the NOSIEST person ever! LOL
i want to know how do you keep track of Occasions...
A Book, Written on the Calendar, a Rolodex, Electronic Item (iPad..), Or Google Dates???
Tell me! LOL
I'm not super organized with the dates. It's pretty pathetic actually. I know the major events, but my problem seems to be getting the card made & in the mail in a timely manner. Before kids, I would work on my cards on Sat a month & get them all made so I could send them out in time. I'm hoping this challenge will help me get back into a routine & organized.
VikkiJo....when I first read that, I thought I read Noisiest person and I was rolling...my sister will assure you that no, I am the noisiest and they swear that they can hear me on the other side of the football field....small town field with just bleachers but during game, they swear they can hear me....I tell them that if I hadn't had to yell at them for so many yrs, my lungs wouldn't be nearly as developed ....LOL!!!! but nosiest....well, I don't know, I have a sister who could give you a run for the money....
I don't have much of a system...in fact, Sharon's sounds really familiar....heehee....

I want to say, at first I thought it was noisiest, too!!! LOL
oh my yes....great game....I have always liked Danny Manning....such a nice young man..so even if he is coaching against us, I can't have hard feelings....and I know he is a major coup for Tulsa...the recruiting power of his name will be huge.....
But I'm always gonna be yelling for my Shocks....their defense was amazing tonight....Had to be...Tulsa has some great shooters.....did they show the full court shot at buzzer of 1st half? made by a Tulsa player from their free throw line and it went in!!!!! OMG...I was speechless....and that doesn't happen very often, I can assure you...
oh to bad...it was totally amazing....this mornings talking heads had a short mention on Danny and interview with him after the game. He said he was surprised at the reception he got when they announced the coach with the starting line-ups. WHAT???? So we aren't Lawrence but we appreciate a good Kansas boy....Of course the crazy student section did sing out, "Rock, Chalk, WuShock"....which he thought was pretty funny...
Hi Sheri put me down for next year, apart from the motivation it's great fun chatting with you all. I must admit to being quite organised making and sending cards out on time but not having to go out to earn a crust any more does help!
Vikki Jo your birthday rollex is brilliant, I have an A4 sheet of paper with all the dates on that I saved as a document so I just update and print out every year, I also have a calendar on my MacBook, a calendar on my ipad and a birthday book that I never look at oh and my DIL makes everyone in the family a photo calendar of our grandson with a little photo of each person on the day of their birthday. One year Jennie uploaded her diary by mistake so the whole family could see all their appointments for the whole year, it was quite amusing as we all kept asking how they had gone on with various appointments as they appeared on the calendar.
Oh so good to have you both...Jan, I'm so jealous....I really would love to be retired and be my own boss...not for a few more yrs though....Mary, thx so much. I put you down for Oct 15th. I am not a fan of scifi but I have a friend whose husband and 3 sons are all into it and are Star Wars addicts. she just wrote a book and is in process of getting an agent....to cool. They recently went to New York for some kind of convention to promote it.
Well, I totally fizzeled out after about March this year, so hoping to do better in 2013. Before the new year I will get my perpetual calendar updated with anniversaries of the nieces and nephews that got married this year and their spouse's birth dates.

I love this idea. A rolodex is easier to find than a little book buried somewhere on my desk.
Sign me up for this year. I started the year out with good intentions, but ended up scrambling to make cards anyway. I think it must have been all the sympathy cards I had to make.
I actually bought a rolodex....WHOOOHOOO!!! Found one at an estate sale that hasn't ever been used...so now I need to round up all the scraps and notes and pieces here and there with names and dates on them... that will prolly be the hardest part yet...but I'm determined....
