Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Anyone is welcome to play - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a TEApotter the first time you play in our challenge. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something about the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
CHALLENGE: When I was thinking about being the hostess for the 500th tea party, the song 500 Miles came immediately to mind. I am thinking of the old Peter, Paul, and Mary song. If you are younger you might be thinking of the newer song Im Gonna Be by The Proclaimers which has a chorus that starts, But I would walk 500 miles Either way the songs are about being far away from people we care about.
So my challenge is to use a mode of transportation on your card airplane, wagon, bicycle, hot air balloon, blimp, roller skates - any kind of transportation at all will do.
DESTINATION STATION: This week we have a new kind of Destination Station called TEApotters Choice. This week you can send your card to someone you know who needs a card. It could be someone far away, or just someone you havent seen or heard from in awhile. It might be a child in college, a friend who needs a little cheer, or someone recovering from an illness. You decide who needs a card and send it off to them to brighten their day. If your card is inspired by something about the recipient, please tell us about that in your card description.
Here is a Quick Link to the Teapot Tuesday #MMTPT500 Challenge Gallery Be sure to useKEYWORD MMTPT500 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card! Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to jacqueline.

But I'm also hoping (need to work out how to combine at least one of his likes with the transport theme) to make another card for Al, who was our destination for MMTPT420 and who, per Pat's recent update in the Send a Card forum, has a lot on his plate right now.

I will be back later with my new card...
In the meantime, I took a trip down memory lane. I thought I was around at the beginning, but now I recall I was a lurker for a long time - until #56, - to be exact. This is my first tea pot party card: No snail but Riley at the Tour de Teapot (er..France) by etsdas - at Splitcoaststampers
It was fun, and a bit disconcerting, to see the names of other teapotters. Some of you have been around since the beginning - and other names I have not seen for a while - which brings thoughts of "where are they how?"
Does any one want to join me on this trip down memory lane?
Mass transport here - except for the flat tire so it ain't going nowhere.... Sorry for the bad photo, my energy levels are pretty flat this week and I missed the daylight window. I'll try to grab one tomorrow - maybe even before work as I'm not on overtime and won't need to leave early.
Hi all - I have just re-joined SCS after a long while and am therefore new to the challenges - which I LOVE! I understand that this challenge requires a mode of transportation, but how long do the challenges last? Is there an ending date?

Welcome! No, there is no ending date - especially since the cards go to our own friends. Other weeks, when we can send to a specific recipient, it really depends on the circumstances. (I have often been a month or two late!) Just use the correct keyword and the card goes in the matching gallery.
I actually have my first card done on Thursday!!! I am pushing the limit as far as the theme is concerned - but I doubt the challenge police will be around!
My card is a challenge catch-up, and it is a birthday card for my brother. The "500 Mile" song brings to mind a mode of transportation. My transportation is a vintage automobile. Here is it: Reaching "Classic" Old Age!
