Tried 2 new techniques with this card to meet both the TLC16 and SC25 challenges. These challenges are certainly encouraging me to extend my repertoire. This is my very first shaker card!!!
I thought this one suited the 90 degree heat we've been having:
Here's mine combined with the sketch challenge for this week, thought they went well together. Hope my dad enjoys this. (still pending @ 11:09am CMT)Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Well, I finally made it back to the challenges. I feel like I have been gone for forever. Here is my first card, I am having a little trouble uploading the second, so I will try that one again later. Fun challenge.
This is my first attempt at a challenge. I need 5 graduation cards and I thought this was perfect for it. I only have one graduation stamp that I got at an AC Moore sidewalk sale last week for $1.
Here are the links to the three cards I made tonight:
The definition sheet is printed on vellum and attached over a shaving cream background. I'm really happy with how it turned out. And it actually combines 4 challenges for this week.
I have 4 more cards for this challenge. (2 of them I just uploaded are are still pending approval) I've made 7 graduation cards with this method......I only needed 5. LOL! Time to move on to another theme!
It took all week, but now my stamp area of the basement is clean and organized and I can play again. Here is my father's day card--the first one is the exterior, and the second one is the inside. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Here's another that combines TLC16 & SC25. Unlike most of my challenge cards, this one was made for a specific purpose - my MIL's 80th birthday in August. Thanks to Dpierstamper for the'octogenarian' idea:
Beth, You challenged Denny and I, but well worth the extra effort. It was time consuming figuring out how to shrink the letter size definition page down to card size. You know how quirky Microsoft Word can be. I am so excited though to now know Valerie's technique. Thank you girls and to Cindy on the how to's....You are all great! Nancy
Here is my first challenge attempt. My mom's birthday is next Monday. She doesn't have a crafty bone in her body and never truly appreciates the stuff I make. So I'm glad I can post it and share it with you all.
I've been MIA (missing in action) for a while with both the sketch and these challenges. I overloaded myself with swaps and then with all the deadlines and pressure of having to make certain things I got turned off and haven't felt like stamping much lately. Good news is that all these swaps are finally completed and I'm starting to feel like stamping for ME again!!
Also, my hint I figured out is that it was better for me at least to make sure Word was making the wording full justified (when both the left and right margins end in a line). Made it easier to use the right half of the paper.
And in the sharing spirit since I've met so many great people here and just love the willingness I've seen of SCS'ers to help others I'm attaching my defination sheets that I've already made as a small thank you I've got birthday and basketball. So have fun!!
I was on vacation last week so didn't get to play. I love this technique though and have done several cards using it. Thought I'd go ahead and add the links to them here. Thanks!
As they say better late than never. Here is my "Valerie's definition sheet" except that mine isn't really a definition. It's a little story about the panda that I took off the website. This is my card
Sorry this is so stinking late!! I have hardly been making any cards lately, let alone uploading!! Here is a card that I used for Father's Day for my husband (it's the only card I have made lately that is still in the house;) ). I loved this new technique... and I love all of the wonderful new techniqes that Beth is teaching me!! You Rock Beth!!!
I just uploaded my first challenge card. This is exciting! I combined definitions and related quotes in a bon voyage card for my daughter who is leaving for a teaching job in Korea. She is so nervous that I thought she could use some inspiration. This is also the first link to a card that I've put in a post so I hope it works.
Oops! I was thinking of the wrong background. I used a thesaurus and Word by Word and created my own background for a Sunday School party. I've attached it here.

This is a potentially addictive technique, it allows us to personalize a background (with words) that is just exactly for the occasion that we'd like! I think that it would be fun to create a thread where we could all share our Definition Sheets with each other. It takes a little time to make one so if we pooled our resources, we'd have that much more of a (ready) selection to draw from! I am including the two (essentially the same thing just a bit of a different format) that I came up with. Thank you for presenting this challenge.
Oh yeah, the card that I made :-) Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Jeanne and some of us were playing card challenge during the Superbowl and I tried this technique. I just looked up dictionary on the search engine and copy and pasted into Word, rearranged, changed the font and printed...so cool! So why did I just order By Definition?
