You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
So, basically what you do is cut out blocks of cardstock in complimentary colors and layer on black (usually). Some of the blocks contain stamping while most are plain. I know that there are templates you can buy at your local stamp/scrapbook store for this purpose, but I know you talented ladies can do this! Start with one main stamped image (not too big), cut it to size and then start cutting blocks to fit around it.
I look forward to seeing all your creations!
I am in search of suggestions for techniques for future TLCs! Please PM with suggestions and a link to the directions and/or a sample if you can. Thanks!
As always, if you have questions, please ask. If you have suggestions, please share!
When you upload, please put TLC49 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!
Are you stalking the TLC forum??? I posted it seriously less than a minute ago! I can't wait to see what you come up for this one, Julia!
P.S. Thanks for the PM...I will get back to you later today, sweetie.
THis is going to be fun. Reminds me of the Partridge Family bus. It is also a piece of art called "Broadway Boogie Woogie" (I can't remember the artist right now). I will have to give this one a try.

Of course I'm stalking you...I was thinking you've ditched me as a friend! No actually, I'm just challenge addicted:rolleyes:
Great challenge, Beth! I have a small colorblocking template that I bought a year or so ago & haven't used yet. This will be a great opportunity to dig that out & give it a try.

That's too funny, I had it open before Julia even replied! I was waiting for you...dont' know why I stalk it, I don't even stamp until nap time anyway!
Here is mine pending approval. I had a hard time getting it laid out the way that I wanted. Not loving this card. Was working on Valentine cards for stamp camp. Thanks for hosting.
I'm a stalker, too. I was checking earlier, but I had to go cut card stock for my class tomorrow. I'm not done; I just needed a break. Great cards I'm seeing & a great challenge. I hope to get a chance to play later.
Sounds fun, don't think I can stamp today though, DD2 is very sick and currently fast asleep beside me in my chair! :( I'll have fun cruisin' the gallery though!

I do it too...Emily...Nap time doesn't come early enough and apparently we are anxious to see what Beth has come up with!
It was done a little differently. I stamped and embossed the BG stamp on glossy. Then cut it apart and brayered different colors on each piece. This makes it easy to fit the pieces together. Of course the same idea could be done without the BG stamp. On the back of the glossy CS (piece needs to be cut smaller than the black you want to mat it on) draw a pattern for cutting lines (you can number the pieces if you think they will get out of order). Then stamp and/or brayer the pieces individually, then piece back together.

count me in too! I couldn't sleep last night, so I was checking at about 2AM!!:o

I had made this one earlier. It has the different blocks, but I didn't use black, so it isn't exactly what the challenge called for. I can't wait to try one with the black later on! Thank You Beth!
