This was a new technique for me and as the description says I skipped a step. I like the outcome anyway. Thanks for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
For whatever reason (maybe because I used bubble wrap instead of shelf liner?) the background I made with this technique looks much different than the others I have seen here. But, anyway, anytime I get to go swimming in ink... hey I'm there!

Glad I got to play this week. This was fun and fairly easy and only a little messy. I didn't have the shelf paper so i used the non skid stuff you can buy for rugs that aren't rubber backed. i think it worked ok.
Wow! This was fun! But "messy" is the understatment of the year (or maybe I don't know how to be anything BUT messy)! Anyway, thought I had a few good hours to get this and a few other things done, but alas my precious avatar had other plans...a bit rushed in the end, I'm going to have to tweak this a little! TFL
Only had a little while to play this morning before leaving for the day--So I threw together a quick and easy card using the techniques--I forgot to mist the actetate before doing the fish, but tried it again with the next layer--actually like both effects so I used them. Shelved Fish
Very nice technique and I got a good one after the third try. I'll use my first but it's rather light and may not show on screen. Thanks Lisa and Beth!
Here it is, didn't get it finished until last night, and then had problems uploading it, anyway, I love that this is a tech that I would not do on my own, but bc of the challenge, i did it anyway! I am not sure how to get this across on screen, but i love that the challenge WASN'T easy for me, it makes me better. KWIM?
Here's mine........a twist on the twist of this technique: Birthday Surprise

Thanks for the challenge. I used the piece of textured rubber that goes under my cutting board to keep it from moving. It looks a lot like shelf liner. I think I spritzed it too much.
Here is my second try at the technique. I combined it with the regular smackin acetate using different colors (darker on the twisted part). I kinda like how it turned out.

It has taken me a little longer to get my stamping done, so I combined Monday's technique with Tuesday's colors. I made two cards. Flowers Cat
Thanks for Looking!

Got to try a little Smacking Acetate tonight. I combined it with the color challenge. I think I'll bring some with me tomorrow night to the stamping group.

Whew, I had a hard time with this one. I didn't have any shelf paper so I look for alternatives, but I couldn't find anything that had a dense enough pattern to make me happy. I finally saw my Coluzzle cutting mat and tried it -- and love it!
I made 2 cards, both have the technique, but I also embossed the shelf liner. I cannot sleep and I ran across an article on embossing shelf liner..... (Jan/Feb 1988 Somerset Studio- Gorgeous samples too!!!).
I hope you enjoy- I was wallowing in self pity when I made the fish card-for myself- sorry.....
I am waiting for Upload Sunday to pass so I can post this try at the Technique Challenge. I borrowed this set from a friend to make soldier cards- hope you enjoy!
