I just made one of these for the IC challenge this Saturday, for my mirror image I stamped my image onto a background (canvas) stamp and then stamped that onto the card stock, then the image (elephant) had the canvas look to it > ebony and ivory

OK, now I had to get serious. I can't believe how beautiful your cards are. I had to try it again. It still isn't as good as yours, but it made me stretch to be better and I enjoyed it.
Thanks for making me stretch. Maybe someday I will be as good as the rest of you but until then, here is my second card.
Woohoo Beth, thanks for picking one of my cards for a sample. Never had that happen before! I'm off to make a new one.

Just uploaded my attempt, if I can attach it! I had such fun doing this and was inspired by the examples. What with having visitors from the UK, kids sick then me sick it's been 4 weeks since I've been able to sit and make a card. A luxury! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Beth, thanks for the challenge. Here's mine called, Mirrored Trees.

This is my first time completing a challenge! I had a lot of fun doing it! I had to go with using vellum, because I didn't have any of the other stuff on hand. I hope this works--first time posting a picture/link.
OMG Beth, what a challenging Challenge.......but I love the results. Another Lovely as a Tree, but I think original in its own way. Enjoy and again Thanks, Nancy

Well, I think this card only took me about 10 hours to make (maybe a slight exaggeration) and it's not perfect, but I decided to upload it anyway after I put so much time into it. I think I'm reflection challenged. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Man, this was a hard technique to do - Thanks for getting us to try it - took me several attempts before I finally got a reflection that I was happy with:
I've come back to the thread to look for all the cards, as when I search in the gallery for TLC89 it only brings up 12 cards! Mine isn't among them and I wondered if I loaded something up wrong. Any ideas? Thanks
Karen

check your keywords. if it isn't an exact match then it won't find them.

Thank you. I double checked and had created a challenge all of my own TCL ! I've been in and changed it so hopefully it's there now. I was tired when I loaded it last night!
I haven't been doing the challenges much lately, but this one got me interested by all the gorgeous tree cards. Unfortunately, I don't have any! So mine is horses . . . BarebackSunrise
An FYI for you as well... You know the cute snowman wheel on pg. 50 in the IB&C? Well, the original image is inked in classic black ink, and the reflection is done with Almost Amethyst underneath and then misted or a little bit of water was painted over it to smear the image - the reflection. This is the easy way to do it, but it bothered me that the snowmen weren't true opposite reflections of themselves. So I decided to experiment and found that our classic black ink will roll out nicely onto wax paper, and then by misting the wax paper, you can transfer the image right underneath the original and it is a true reflection or silhoutte of the original!
I thought this would make using the wheels appealing to try out the Mirror/ Reflection technique. Give it a try! HTH someone has probably discovered this already!! Tanya in B.C.
I DID IT!! Took me the better part of the week but I am actually pretty happy with the result!! I can't wait to send this to my friend who gave me the tree stamp she didn't like anymore!! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I tried to teach this technique in a class last night and met with a lot of "can't do it". I gave them acetate and they stamped on it (with classic ink), then I had them flip that over and rub the image into the paper and remove the acetate.
The images didn't come out very well and people got WAYYYYYYYYY too frustrated, thinking that I had the "super nack" to make mine work.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated as I have to teach another class tonite and don't want the same issue....
