I found this technique back when we did the Strip Flip and was fascinated by it. I didn't see many card makers doing it, but it seems to be a favorite with quilters who are using up scraps. Quilters call it Strip and Flip. So let's flip some scraps!
I've attached my 3 favorite photos of *Strip and Flip* quilts I found on Pinterest (and added watermarks so you would know who made them.) The final attachment is my card so you can see how it translates from quilt to card. When I do a colorful strip background, I like to add in random shiny pieces. I think it adds interest.
Remember to use the keyword TLC905 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
The best technique ever for using my stash of handmade strips of marbled papers. So fast, too. Thanks, Beverly. I layered all my strips on the sticky side of label paper. One can sometimes reposition and then glue down the design more easily. TLC905 Cypress Flip Quilt by ArtzadoniStudio at Splitcoaststampers
