TLC999 Underwater Scene 04/14/2024

Happy Monday All!!

Happy Tax Day if you're in the US...I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I can't believe this is challenge 999! How is that possible?

This month I am playing with Distress inks and a stencil to create an underwater scene with the sun shining through the water. It was a lot of fun to create and inky background and give my distress inks some love though this would work with any water based ink.

I found a great tutorial HERE

NOTE: Though the tutorial recommends a certain stencil, I used a different one and if you don't have one similar, you can cut "sun-ray" strips of cardstock (something heavy so it doesn't move as easily) and tape them down at the top and hold them down at the bottom. Just go slow.

I'm so glad I found this thread. Years ago I was creating cards with this very theme of underwater light. Here are a couple:

I opted for more subtle rays of ight and I cut my own paper stencil for the rays.
