Default ? about paint cans

I'm going to try to make my first paint can this weekend. I've downloaded the template. How do you adhere the paper to the can? Do you use some sort of spray tack stuff or do you only glue the paper in a few spots. Just currious how do adhere the first piece.

Good question!
I've used a few differant adhesives, like tacky paper glue -Yucky!
It's too wet and causes the cardstock to wrinkle and buckle. It does hold well though...
Sticky Strip / Tacky Tape (red backed tape) This works really well, but I worry that the cardstock will get damaged in an area that the tape isn't.
I just picked up a big can of spray adhesive. So far so good. I get an all over even hold, and it doesn't wrinkle the paper.
I would suggest spraying it on the card stock, letting it dry to tacky, then adhering it to the can.
I put my card stock in a cardboard box to spray so my work space doesn't get sticky!

I made paint cans for Christmas Gifts and I uysed double stick tape, works well and it also allows you to re-position it once the cardstock is on the can. Good Luck with your project.

I used a hot glue gun. I made two for Christmas and this worked the best for me. Mono did not work. With the glue gun I didn't have to worry about it coming off.

I also made several for Christmas, but felt like the SU cardstock was too heavy for the cans and always came unstuck (I tried to adhere with Rubber Cement and HD double stick tape - didn't have any sticky strip on hand). I did figure out, though, that wrapping paper also works well to cover them with...and I had lots on hand since it was Christmas!! It's just a thinner paper so did much better at the sticking thing. Have fun!

i made my first one a month ago (gosh i hope it's staying put!!!) and gave it away.

I used my xyron for all over stick and then sticky strip on edges of each piece.

Default paint can sticky

I use my Hermafix Vario squares. You can reposition, then press down for permanent adhesion.

Thumbs up

I have made several cans, and the only thing i have ever used is a glue stick. Have had no problems, and no un-sticking....
have fun!
