Default Accidental Discovery!! New type of kissing--glue kissing!

I made a great discovery today and hadn't come across it on SCS before.

I was making a card and needed to adhere vellum to the front of my card. Eyelets just wouldn't do, so I tried using my 2 way glue pen. Unfortunately, I was gluing it to Rose Romance cardstock and it was showing through like crazy. I immediately peeled it off to see if I could fix it. As I sat there scratching my head, I rembered that the glue was drying, and when dry, if you stick it onto other dry 2-way glue...it's permanent.

I thought, hey, that's cool because the glue on the card front is exactly lining up with the glue on the vellum. I stuck it back on, and voila!! You can't see the glue through the vellum. So I did the same thing on purpose with the second piece of vellum. Juse put a light line of glue around the edges, kiss it to the spot where you're going to place it and pull it immediately back off. Wait until thoroughly dry and put it back.

Here's the card. The bottom piece was accidental, the top piece was on purpose. The only problem is that you can see the glue on the upper piece a little, but that's because I was a little impatient and it wasn't really totally dry.

Default Accidental Discovery! glue kissing

I love your card and the glue kissing is something I'm going to try out. I have vellum tape and it still shows through in spots and I've been so frustrated to use any other glues to adhere my vellum. Thanks for posting both your idea and card.

Thanks for that clever idea! I also have had trouble finding ways to attach vellum until I found the Scrappers' Spray by Creating Keepsakes. It is fantastic and I have never had it show through. It is temporarily repositionable, photo safe and totally invisible! It's not cheap - $8.99 for a 7 oz can but it will last a LONG time. I bought it at a scrapbooking store.

Thanks for the idea--I'll have to try it. Your card is beautiful! What a great invite. I don't know if you participate in the Sketch Challenge, but this card would fit the lay out for this week's challenge!
