Default Alcohol Inks

I absolutely love the alcohol inks for beautiful backgrounds, but find basically, that is all you can use them for. Does anyone know of any other techniques/uses in making cards?

Default Yes, they make great backgrounds.

So you may want to think of what other materials on which to use them. For example transparencies, acetate, slides, metal and glass ornaments. Brads can become zippy new colors. And dominoes can have a fast background. Enjoy!

Archivers has a workshop where they decorate a provo craft tin and use alcohol inks on the lid and top part of the tin with paper on the bottom and it looks pretty good although in person it's kind of blotchy. Maybe thats the way it's supposed to be, I don't know, because I have never used them. But the finish on that tin was very smooth, not like paint would be unless it's spray on paint anyway.

I'm signed up for the Archiver's class on July 23. I love the way the inks looks, they look smoother than paint and easier then trying to cut paper to fit. I thought maybe they could be used on paint can too. I'll let you know how it turns out.

You can stamp directly on your backgrounds and cut out the images and mount on your card. It makes a cool colored in image.

I love using them on brads. I got some ivory colored brads very cheap. I use my Chizzel-it tool to grind off the ivory paint and then use the alcohol inks to color the brad. Very cool.
