There's even a picture of me with one on Lastel's Blog. It's the 2nd picture down, and you'll notice it's got red alcohol ink (Copic ink refills) on it. Lots of fun!
I took the wood block from a stamp I had unmounted and stuck the hooky part of some velcro on it, then got some white felt-by-the-yard at Walmart and cut pieces of felt to fit my block. Works great, and the felt was around $3 a yard - I'll have enough to last for quite a while!
Yup....any wood block with that self stick hook part of the velcro and just plain felt that you can get for .59 for the 9 x 12 sheet at craft stores. In the past I've also used cotton cosmetic pads and the clip but I like the felt way better.
You can also just drop some of the alcohol on glossy paper for a spotty look and stamp right over it then cut your image out....great for leaves.

Or you can use the felt dots with glue on the back. They are meant to be put under furniture to protect the floor. Just glue them on to basically anything you want and start playing.

My boss let me take an old rubber office stamp home that we no longer used. I peeled off the rubber and gorilla glued velcro ( the stiffer side) to it. Then I cut out a left over sheet of white felt into tiny squares. I will say that I did eventually buy the pads and they did blend things a little better than my homemade ones.
