Default ATC help

I have never done a ATC swap and wanted to do one with my club tomorrow night. I have the dimensions but what are the rules and how can I promote this? Thanks,
Kerrie

I belong to a ATC swap group by mail, and the only regulations are the size, a theme each month, deadline, they can be stamped, scrapped with design paper, collage and embellishments. I prefer a theme, and more details with
each swap, so the swap is one of more uniform work and expense. Example:
fall, two layers, one embellishment, stamped. The more definite the dtails the less frustration with only a simple ATc done by some and detailed done by others. Also you can do a "google" search to see ideas to give you more
ideas what to go with, we plan three months in advance with a deadline each month. Have fun Carolyn in MN

The rules are simple. Keep it 2 1/2 x 3 1/2, put your contact info on the back and never ever sell an ATC. The T stands for trading! Beyond that there aren't any real rules but a few widely accepted practices. If you make 20 identical cards then number them on the back ( 1/20, 2/20, 3/30, etc). If you make a series of cards, say 20 cards with a picture of a dog, 20 cards with a picture of a dog house and 20 cards with a picture of a dog leash then you may want to indicate that the dog is series 1/3 and card 1/20, the dog house would be 2/3 and the card number and so on. Most collectors prefer that the card not be too thick so that they will slide into the pockets of the collector sheets made for baseball cards. Sometimes an organized swap will have a theme. Some swaps require all cards to be handmade and other swaps will allow reproductions (photo copies).
