Question Attaching Ribbon

I am a newbie, so this may be a strange question, but what is the easiest way to get ribbon to stay on my cards? I have tried the photo sticky tabs and the ribbon doesn't stay down. I also have some liquid scrapbook glue, MONO AQUA, but it goes through the ribbon leaving a spot. I know I can go all the way around the card, but that just seems like a waste! I am such a hoarder, that I buy the stuff and can barely part with it!!! I just love it too much!
I would love your ideas & suggestions! Thanks!!

I like to use glue dots on my ribbon if I want to attach it to a card. They work great! You'll find them in a lot of different sizes too which is good.

I use glue dots too to attach bows. Or if I'm attaching a length of ribbon to my card, I run my adhesive runner across the back of the ribbon.

I love glue dots too! Also, if you like it to look like the ribbon goes around the card but not use so much (I am the same way...) I do this: make my basic card, then a card front that has everything on it, coordinating with the card itself. The card front is usually 1/8th inch smaller all around than the card. Using double sided tape that is super sticky , I attach the ribbon behind the card front with just a little bit behind, being held by the tape. Then the card front gets stuck on to the card and voila! It looks wrapped around the main front and is quite nice I think.

HTH.

Red face

I'm so sorry for the multiple posts! Every time I hit send, IE would time out and tell me there was an error, and when I'd check back here, it would show up as my post not posting. If I knew of a way to delte them, I would.

Sorry!!!

I use glue dots for bows, too. A length of ribbon I attach with double stick tape on the back. For very narrow ribbon I sometimes use the CM mini tape runner.

Another vote for glue dots here! They don't show through organdy at all. I use them for attaching just about everything!

No worries! There is something going on tonight I think. I sent 3 PMs to one person for the same reason you posted multiple times.

I love glue dots. So they have my vote too. In fact I used them on Friday to adhere "earrings". The school I work at was celebrating read across america since we are on vacation this week. All the staff dressed up as story book characters and dressed up as the coconut tree from Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I stamped leaves and attached them to my ears with glue dots. Gotta love that.

I simply use a piece of scotch tape and tape the ribbon to the back of the layer that I have the ribbon on. Tape one end on the back, run it across the front and then tape the other end. Saves ribbon and I can get it straight.

I also use glue dots for all types of ribbon. I will also punch holes in one of the layers and knot the ribbon on to the card front.

Have fun!

I love to use the Hermafix dotto removable dots to run the length (or in spots) of the ribbon. Not only does it keep the ribbon in place, but if I need to move the ribbon for some reason (not straight!) I can do it and it won't ruin the paper under it. Also, it does NOT show through the organze ribbons I am so fond of.

I run my ribbon through the Xyron (the little X model), and it works great.

I bought some glue dots and was able to play the last couple of nights while working on this months stamp club project. It worked terrific to adhere the button to the heart.

I also like the glue dots and tape runner.....but here is another tip that I use to attach bows and ribbon. Try this with a glue stick...use a toothpick to put a small amount on a bow and then use your heat tool to briefly melt the glue. When it is cool, the bow stays in place.
