I wanted to do some stamping on some t-shirts for my daughter's bday and was wondering which ink is best. I heard that paletts, but also read that it can be done with chalk. any advice is more than welcome.
Palette works quite well. You can look for any fabric-type ink, but be sure to heat set it when you're finished stamping. Wash the clothes first, no fabric softener. Then stamp and set.
I've read that a few people have used SU! ink with success but haven't tried that myself. I would question whether it holds up to fading or not.

Craft ink does work. You should heat set it after you've stamped it. Probably wash/shrink before you even stamp it. I have a T shirt that was made using the Craft Ink and it's still stamped after a number of washings.
Another way to go is to stamp with an acrylic paint - Lumiere (we used to carry the pearl white shade) works especially well. I stamped daisies from the retired Petal Prints set on a pair of coral colored capris last summer and they have been washed MANY times and still look like I just did it. Just wash fabric first ( I line-dried and continue to do so just because I don't want them to shrink!). Just remember to wash off your stamps immediately after using any acrylic paint on them. HTH

I have stamped several baby onesies using Palette ink--just popped them in the dryer to heat set and they wash and wear very well. I have also stamped on cloth diapers--making them burp cloths the colors stay very well wit the Palette inks.
