Bubble Background

Does anyone know how to do backgrounds using Bubbles?
I'm not sure if it was dishsoap?
you put in a shallow dish, blow bubbles with a straw(?) add some ink drops? :?
I'm not sure if this is correct. I once received a swap where this was done.
Anyone have any thoughts?

i don't know the specifics ie: measurement but i think you've got the right idea, I've never done it before but from what people have told me that is pretty much what you do

I think I have seen this idea on a Wiggles episode! I think how you said was right but I will have to watch the show just to see. No problem there since my son loves the Wiggles.

I love the bubble technique! In a shallow container add water (1/4 full), little squeeze of dishwashing liquid and a couple drops of ink from your reinker. Take a straw and blow into the water until bubbles form all over the top. Take your cardstock (I use glossy) and place it against the bubbles but don't get it in the water. Lay the cardstock down to dry (the bubbles will pop as it dries). Afterwards you will have a cool looking bubble background.

You can also use kid's bubble solution, with 1 tsp. of sugar and food coloring! It works great--I did backgrounds for all my Valentines this way, and they were sooo cute! The sugar makes the solution have the right viscosity to really work. Just lay the paper on top of the bubbles and let them pop--don't push down violently or anything.

Bubble technique. Sounds like fun! Does it only work on glossy cardstock?

You have to use glossy - the regular US white will get too wet and curl up. Also, make sure the ink is on top of the bubbles - ink that is in the bottom of the bowl won't color the cardstock adequately.

Some colors work better than others - most of the pinks are too light to see, except for maybe Pink Passion. Brilliant Blue works really well (almost too well) and seems to sit on top of the bubbles moreso than the other colors (weird, I know.) I've had good luck with Brocade Blue and Lovely Lilac.
