I have some people who want to stamp candles. I don't have a lot of patience doing these. The wax always melts and drips. The dye comes out of coloured ones. Please share your tips with me.
Use tissue paper and wax paper to put a stamp image on a candle. This technique is best used on a white or off-white candle. Stamp an image onto tissue paper. After you color the image, trim it as close to the image as you can and place it onto the candle. Some people may use a dab of glue to hold the image in place. Use a strip of wax paper as a handle on the candle. Hold the image onto the candle with the wax paper and use a heating tool to melt. Experiment with how close the tool needs to be so you can avoid any mishaps. I hope this helps.

I just did my FIRST stamping on candles! I read the tutorial here first. Instead of coloring stamped images, I gold embossed "hearts" onto red tissue paper, trimmed them very close, applied them to the red candle with the wax paper wrapped around the candle, and heated with my heatgun for maybe 7-10 seconds till the tissue paper absorbed into the candle. VERY COOL and easy! I will definitely be making more of these.
I also have taught the candles and have been frustrated by the same things you mentioned. I also had a hard time with clients who strugled. I must say I think the most important thing is doing it in good light. As you really need to react quickly to the melt into the wax. I have seen photos placed on candles, but can not work out how this is done. ANy suggestions?
you need to make a copy of your picture onto tissue paper. what i have done is take a piece of tissue paper and tape it to a piece of copy papy and then feed that threw my copier. i have heard that top loading printers work better but i just have a bottom loader and it works ok. then all you do is trim real close to the picture lay it on the candle and wrap it in wax paper and heat with your heat tool.
Hi, I did exactly what you have suggested Kellisa and used Basic Black ink. I stamped one image on one side of my candle to practice and three weeks later I stamped the exact same image using basic black again and applied it to the other side of the same candle. The two roses were different colours. The older one was a medium purple it had faded! Do you have to use Stazon ink or craft ink. I thought regular ink was OK. What did I do wrong? Dawn
